Just The Girl – Chapter Fifty Three (a HYD-inspired fic)

Last night? Bette inwardly cringed, feeling bile rise up to her throat. “But it was a one time thing!”

A sarcastic laugh escaped from Tina’s lips. “One time? You always – always – get sick every time you overeat.”

“But last night was all your fault, you cooked up a storm and-”

“Hey, I only asked you to grab a taste of everything, I didn’t tell you to finish them all!”

“Well I didn’t want your hard work to come to waste. You know I’m not-”

    “Bright?”

“Exactly!” Bette stopped and blinked. “Wait a minute..”

Taking advantage of her girlfriend’s momentary pause, Tina pressed on. “I’ll go get you your plate of garden salad. Sit still and enjoy.” She said with a fake smile and finality in her tone. She didn’t care if she played the bad guy today. “You don’t know how scary it was for me to watch you vomit your insides out all night long. Jesus Christ, it was like you were gonna die.” She mumbled beneath her breath as she turned and headed for the kitchen. Hearing her words, the objections died on Bette’s lips.

How could she argue with that? Her anger melted into oblivion.

“Aww, will you look at that? That was so sweet..” Sam couldn’t help but comment.

“Shut up.” A blushing Bette fired back.

“It really was.” Shane seconded Sam’s claim. “Now, if you’ll excuse me ladies, I have to go.” She stood up and took her jacket from the back of her seat. She put it on with ease and brushed off some lint from the fabric.

“Where are you going?” Bette questioned.

“I have a date.” Shane lifted her brows at their leader, exchanging loaded smiles.

“Oooh, who’s the new girl?” Alice, ever the curious one, leaned forward and asked.

    “I don’t know.”

Sam and Alice shared the same baffled expression. She didn’t know? Well, that was practically unheard of. “What do you mean you don’t know?” Alice questioned.

    “I haven’t met her yet.”

“You’re going on a blind date?!” Two sets of jaws dropped down.

Bette smirked knowingly as Shane shrugged and waved them goodbye. Without a second glance at her friends, she swaggered out of the Planet, twirling her car keys with a finger on her way out.

    1. See… My heart dropped at page 30. I knew something sad was on its way. I really love how you write. So good! Soooo good! But please fix this. It’s too good to end it like how I think it is. Unless you’re doing it like the show which has a chapter 2.

    2. Oh, no! I feared this might happen, but I trust you to make everything turn out right for our girls. BTW since you left it like that, you can’t keep us waiting long!

    3. i can’t believe tina wants to go to different schools… and could under stand if it was money… but thats not an issue… i some times don’t under stand her… she has to realize bette will not go to yale… ok i trust you to make things right… MERRY CHRISTMAS… to you and your family… PPS

    4. i absolutely love, love love this story and i get frustrated at the length of time between posts but when you post you soooooo make it for it!! The way you write these two (especially Bette) is just brilliant even though its quite obvious Bette is whipped by Tina i’m not sure it’s all gonna go Tinas way this time…can they really be parted long term?!! pps!

    5. Man, I was having withdrawls & it wasn’t pretty…I am so glad that you are back. It was a long chapter & was way wirth the read. very funny & sexy.. I loved F4’S pranks-they were classic. Great job!!!!!

    6. What a power Tina’sgotover Bette? A bit sad at the end. Hope Tina will go with Bette. These two can not be apart. Thank you for the long chapter, you are rock. PPS

    7. Noooo long disyance never works. Suck it up Tina and go to Yale or just let Bette go to USC, it really doesn’t matter where you go to school, it’s how you run with the big boys! PPS

    8. ur gonna split them up. tina is right bette needs to grow and so does she.. distance will only make the heart grow fonder! please don’t let tina hook up with guys:)PPS

    9. Damn, I so saw that coming but still my heart broke a liitle. I am glad Tina is going to give Bette what she needs. I just hope they make it through college still together. I love this Story. Thank you

    10. Wow, a 33-page update. You’re an awesome writer, Alchemy. The lovebirds’ “unique” reviewing method in the last chapter is awfully funny! :> I’m not familiar with HYD but I have a bad feeling on how this story is gonna end. So Alchemy, if I go down on my knees and beg, would you consider deviating from the probable gloomy ending of that story and give us a happy ending instead? I don’t know how their relationship will survive such distance and painful parting. There’s enough gloom in the real world right now what with the global recession and all the other shit that when I retreat into the fictional world of these young, horny lovebirds, I just want to see them happy, together and in love. Please, please fix this ending, Alchemy. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this story and writing these lovely, kilometric updates! And Merry Chrismas to you and your loved ones!!! :>
