Just The Girl – Chapter Fifty Three (a HYD-inspired fic)

The audience clapped as the curtain was slowly pulled down, unveiling the smiling head of Andrew Rothberg. Tom Mater was famous for his exquisitely detailed sculptures – and this one was no exception. A series of appreciative murmurs and favorable nods came from the older part of the audience. Those in attendance who could appreciate art were certainly impressed. Phyllis looked between the people and the half-revealed statue, beaming at the reception that she was getting. The last time was a fluke, nothing would go wrong this time, she falsely thought.
“And here goes number two..” Sam grinned.
“Oh!” Another shocked gasp echoed from the audience as the curtain finally reached the end of its journey down.
Omigod, what now? Phyllis whipped her head to the side to look at the sculpture. A strangled sound left her lips as she stood there, slack jawed and motionless. Suddenly feeling lightheaded and woozy, she swayed at her feet and turned deathly pale. Mustering up enough strength, she gripped the podium for support. “This.. not.. who.. dear God..” She stammered. Words failed her as she gaped at what was supposed to be her precious vanity art – the one depicting her with the late Rothberg. Somebody had defiled the work and hammered off the bottom part of her marble body. Instead of kneeling beside the guy like a student looking up to her teacher, eager to absorb his wisdom, the Phyllis statue was kneeling right in front of Rothberg. From the audience’s point of view, the Kroll statue was giving the respected man some sort of oral stimulation. In other words, she was giving him head.
“Learning at the feet of the master indeed.” Alice chortled.
The people inside the control booth hurriedly pressed the necessary buttons to try and cover the sculpture with the curtain. Unfortunately for them and a mortified Phyllis, the mechanism to pull the cloth back up decided to malfunction at that very moment. With the sculpture still exposed, the panicking headmistress decided to cross the distance between her and the vandalized work to try and do the job herself. Leaving the safety of the podium, she waddled towards the sculpture. As she passed the center of the stage, a piece of red paper taped on the floor caught her attention. Is that..? She stepped closer and eyed it curiously, feelings of dread bubbling up her stomach.

See… My heart dropped at page 30. I knew something sad was on its way. I really love how you write. So good! Soooo good! But please fix this. It’s too good to end it like how I think it is. Unless you’re doing it like the show which has a chapter 2.

i absolutely love, love love this story and i get frustrated at the length of time between posts but when you post you soooooo make it for it!! The way you write these two (especially Bette) is just brilliant even though its quite obvious Bette is whipped by Tina i’m not sure it’s all gonna go Tinas way this time…can they really be parted long term?!! pps!

Wow, a 33-page update. You’re an awesome writer, Alchemy. The lovebirds’ “unique” reviewing method in the last chapter is awfully funny! :> I’m not familiar with HYD but I have a bad feeling on how this story is gonna end. So Alchemy, if I go down on my knees and beg, would you consider deviating from the probable gloomy ending of that story and give us a happy ending instead? I don’t know how their relationship will survive such distance and painful parting. There’s enough gloom in the real world right now what with the global recession and all the other shit that when I retreat into the fictional world of these young, horny lovebirds, I just want to see them happy, together and in love. Please, please fix this ending, Alchemy. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this story and writing these lovely, kilometric updates! And Merry Chrismas to you and your loved ones!!! :>
