Just The Girl – Chapter Fifty Three (a HYD-inspired fic)

“What are you thinking of?” She asked, gently shaking the blonde out from her thoughts. Tina looked at her and edge closer to her body, squeezing her hand affectionately.

“Have you ever seen a shooting star?”

    “Yup, twice or thrice.”

    “Did you wish on it?”

    “No.” Bette answered truthfully.

    “Not even once?”

    “Never.”

    “Why not?”

The brunette shrugged. “What’s the point in wishing when I could get everything that I wanted with just a snap of a finger?”

“That’s true..” Tina looked down on their entwined hands.

Bette felt the blonde retreating to her own little world again so she cleared her throat and kept the exchange going. “How about you? Ever made a wish on a star?”

“Yeah, I made tons of wishes..”

    “I bet.” Bette smirked.

    “Stop mocking me.”

    “I’m not.”

    “Really?”

“Really. So what did you wish for?”

    “A lot of things.”

    “Like?”

“Let me see,” Tina pursed her lips together, her forehead scrunching in deep thought. She can’t remember all of them, but she can recall the memorable ones. “When I was in third grade, I saw my first shooting star. Daddy and I were driving up to the house when I saw it. It was during the middle of January and I can still see it vividly in my mind cause it was the night before my first ballet recital. He said that I could have one wish, and I was so scared and nervous about dancing that I wished that I would kick ass the next day and blow people off their seats.”

Reaching their destination, Bette killed the engine and faced her girlfriend. “What happened at the recital?”

“I danced my heart away and did the most literal performance of the Nutcracker ever.”

“Literal?” Bette looked at Tina quizzically.

The blonde shrugged and gave a sheepish smile, conveying her sordid tale with a look.

“Oh.” Bette made a face, realization seeping in. “Ouch.”

Tina blushed. “I didn’t understand it before, but I finally got what my dad meant when he said that he wouldn’t be surprised if Billy – my dance partner – grew up to be impotent.”

    1. See… My heart dropped at page 30. I knew something sad was on its way. I really love how you write. So good! Soooo good! But please fix this. It’s too good to end it like how I think it is. Unless you’re doing it like the show which has a chapter 2.

    2. Oh, no! I feared this might happen, but I trust you to make everything turn out right for our girls. BTW since you left it like that, you can’t keep us waiting long!

    3. i can’t believe tina wants to go to different schools… and could under stand if it was money… but thats not an issue… i some times don’t under stand her… she has to realize bette will not go to yale… ok i trust you to make things right… MERRY CHRISTMAS… to you and your family… PPS

    4. i absolutely love, love love this story and i get frustrated at the length of time between posts but when you post you soooooo make it for it!! The way you write these two (especially Bette) is just brilliant even though its quite obvious Bette is whipped by Tina i’m not sure it’s all gonna go Tinas way this time…can they really be parted long term?!! pps!

    5. Man, I was having withdrawls & it wasn’t pretty…I am so glad that you are back. It was a long chapter & was way wirth the read. very funny & sexy.. I loved F4’S pranks-they were classic. Great job!!!!!

    6. What a power Tina’sgotover Bette? A bit sad at the end. Hope Tina will go with Bette. These two can not be apart. Thank you for the long chapter, you are rock. PPS

    7. Noooo long disyance never works. Suck it up Tina and go to Yale or just let Bette go to USC, it really doesn’t matter where you go to school, it’s how you run with the big boys! PPS

    8. ur gonna split them up. tina is right bette needs to grow and so does she.. distance will only make the heart grow fonder! please don’t let tina hook up with guys:)PPS

    9. Damn, I so saw that coming but still my heart broke a liitle. I am glad Tina is going to give Bette what she needs. I just hope they make it through college still together. I love this Story. Thank you

    10. Wow, a 33-page update. You’re an awesome writer, Alchemy. The lovebirds’ “unique” reviewing method in the last chapter is awfully funny! :> I’m not familiar with HYD but I have a bad feeling on how this story is gonna end. So Alchemy, if I go down on my knees and beg, would you consider deviating from the probable gloomy ending of that story and give us a happy ending instead? I don’t know how their relationship will survive such distance and painful parting. There’s enough gloom in the real world right now what with the global recession and all the other shit that when I retreat into the fictional world of these young, horny lovebirds, I just want to see them happy, together and in love. Please, please fix this ending, Alchemy. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this story and writing these lovely, kilometric updates! And Merry Chrismas to you and your loved ones!!! :>
