    A little thing called eternity..

     

    Bette_Porter: Baby, are you okay?

     

    What the hell was going on? Tina covered her mouth as her body shook. It has been more than a month since that fateful night in Malibu. More than a month since they talked things out and agreed to attend different schools. Acceptance had come. The first few days were supposed to be the hardest. Things were meant to be easier by now.

     

    So why? Why did every succeeding day seem harder than the last? Why doesn’t the painful stabbing inside her chest gradually cease? Why did she feel sadness every time she saw the radiant smile that had always brightened her day?

     

    For weeks, she had been obsessed about doing the right thing, and she thought she did just that. So why, why did the right thing feel so wrong?

     

    And why the heck did it hurt so much?

     

    Bette_Porter: Kennard?

     

    With trembling fingers, she typed her response. The letters swam before her, her eyes blurring with tears until she could no longer see the screen in front of her.

     

    Tina_Kennard: I miss you already..

    “Hey.”

     

    “What are you doing here? We’re supposed to be testing the headsets.” Tina protested, even when her heart nearly leaped out of her chest in joy when Bette came barging through her bedroom door.

     

    “They’re not important. We can always test them some other day.” Bette took the laptop from Tina and placed it gently on the study table.

     

    “Come here?” Tina smiled as she tears streamed down her face freely. She opened her arms and invited Bette into them. Without hesitation, the brunette crawled into bed and accepted her touch. She buried her face into the brown curls and inhaled deeply, finding comfort and safety in the familiar scent.

     

    “Sshh, its gonna be fine.” Bette placed a soft kiss on her temple as Tina continued to cry. “I’m so sorry..”

     

    “For what?”

     

    “For whatever it is that I did wrong..”

     

    Tina smiled despite her tears. “Why do you always assume that you did something wrong?”

     

    “Didn’t I?” Bette pulled back and looked curiously at Tina’s face. Her eyes were bloodshot, her nose was runny, and her cheeks were kinda puffy. She gazed at Tina fondly and enviously, cause unlike her, tears agreed with the blonde. She still looked beautiful, drop dead gorgeous even. “I must’ve done something to make you cry..”

    5. What was Tina going to say to Bette on the beach? Will Tina be able to forgive Bette for not saying goodbye? Will Tina catch the next available flight out to Connecticut? I hope so… I can’t wait to see how you wrap everything up, but I’m really going to miss this story. Thanks for the chapter.

    8. This has/is an incredible story. I look for it daily and was so glad to see a post today. Please say it isn’t so, Your not ending it are you? Their still young and have slots to go through. A sequel maybe?.

    11. WOW!!!!! I just got a chance to read all 37 pages of it-it was a long one…but well worth it. I can understand why Bette went ahead & left-but Tina will be hurt…but I think she will understand. I hope they can work through this & I can’t wait for the next update. Great job.

    12. *Sniffle* Oh dear, this has got to be the saddest JTG chapter. *Sniffle* So begging on my knees didn’t work. *Sniffle* I don’t know how they’ll ever get to eternity when it’s hard to say they’ll even get to survive the next 24 hours, weeks or months apart. *Sniffle* I hope Tina will still change her mind but if not…then, *Thank you very much* for this lovely, funny, sometimes sexy high school TiBette tale. It’s been a great ride, Alchemy! *Crysmiles like Bette* Okay… I’m gonna go to a corner now and cry my heart out. Boohoo. :(

    17. Hey Alchemy! So glad to have you back with another chapter, but extremely sad that the end is coming. I have loved this story from the beginning as your writing is incredible. I have the feeling Tina had decided to go with Bette, but will maybe stick to their plan now that Bette has left. Bette’s letter had me teary-eyed which is one of the best things about your writing… one minute I’m laughing out loud, the next I’m choked up. Thanks for the post.
