“Hey Bette?” Alice called after the brunette before she disappeared into the dining area.
“Yeah?”
“Have you told Tina about..” She trailed off, knowing that her friend knew what she was referring to.
“No. Not yet.”
“When are you going to tell her?”
“I don’t know.”
“Are you even planning to?”
Bette shifted her weight consciously on both feet. “Honestly? Probably not.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t think I can do it if she’s there..” She quietly answered.
Alice nodded in understanding. “You’re doing the band-aid thing then?”
“That’s the plan.” Bette mumbled and then, she was gone.

Bette stared at her reflection for the twentieth time. A frown marred her delicate features when she saw the unruly curl that had stuck up like a beacon on top of her head. As quickly as her legs could take her, she ran to the bathroom and applied some water on the stubborn strands. After flattening it down to her head, she ran back to her room and jumped on the bed. She placed the computer on her lap and adjusted the LCD. She smiled at the image that was being shown on the window at the leftmost portion of the screen. Looking good Porter, she winked at her vain self. The webcam was working perfectly.
Idly, she began playing a word game as she waited for her Tina to fix the settings on her laptop. Despite earlier temptation, she fought the urge to visit the blonde in the neighboring apartment. She wanted to respect her girlfriend’s wish to try and figure out the equipment on her own. Displaying patience that she hardly possessed, Bette waited for Tina to resume their conversation on IM.
She closed the game quickly when a chime rang, alerting her of her lover’s return.
Bette_Porter: Welcome back!
Bette_Porter: Success?
Tina_Kennard: I think so. You?
Bette_Porter: Of course.
Tina_Kennard: Great. Let’s start?
Bette_Porter: Sure. Just accept my request so I could view your webcam, k?
Tina_Kennard: K J
Bette drummed her fingers excitedly as she received confirmation from Tina. A new window opened up on top of her own video. The picture was slow and grainy at first but then cleared up after a few seconds. She smiled brightly as she gazed at her girlfriend. On or off, she always loved that pajama on Tina.

wow that was a loooonnnnggg but fantastic chapter.how harsh is Bette just leaving for Yale like that!!!anyway,it will be a sad day when this story ends but yet i can’t wait til the end to find out what happens.PPS cheers

god how i love this story, every chapter is like a mini book! i’m not right stoked to read that the next will be the last though, i absolutely love how you write these two…especially bette! my only hope is that you keep them together and that you promise to carry on writing other stories…well????!
What was Tina going to say to Bette on the beach? Will Tina be able to forgive Bette for not saying goodbye? Will Tina catch the next available flight out to Connecticut? I hope so… I can’t wait to see how you wrap everything up, but I’m really going to miss this story. Thanks for the chapter.

This has/is an incredible story. I look for it daily and was so glad to see a post today. Please say it isn’t so, Your not ending it are you? Their still young and have slots to go through. A sequel maybe?.

WOW!!!!! I just got a chance to read all 37 pages of it-it was a long one…but well worth it. I can understand why Bette went ahead & left-but Tina will be hurt…but I think she will understand. I hope they can work through this & I can’t wait for the next update. Great job.
*Sniffle* Oh dear, this has got to be the saddest JTG chapter. *Sniffle* So begging on my knees didn’t work. *Sniffle* I don’t know how they’ll ever get to eternity when it’s hard to say they’ll even get to survive the next 24 hours, weeks or months apart. *Sniffle* I hope Tina will still change her mind but if not…then, *Thank you very much* for this lovely, funny, sometimes sexy high school TiBette tale. Hey Alchemy! So glad to have you back with another chapter, but extremely sad that the end is coming. I have loved this story from the beginning as your writing is incredible. I have the feeling Tina had decided to go with Bette, but will maybe stick to their plan now that Bette has left. Bette’s letter had me teary-eyed which is one of the best things about your writing… one minute I’m laughing out loud, the next I’m choked up. Thanks for the post.
