Just The Girl – Chapter Fifty Four (a HYD-inspired fic)

“Heeeey..” Bette eyes shone like a child when she chanced upon a shelf full of musical globes. “Kennard!” She called the blonde at the other side of the room.

“Yeah?” Tina walked over to her excited girlfriend, carrying two shirts side by side. “Babe, which one should we get for dad?”

“Get both.” Bette answered, appraising Tina’s choices.

    “But-”

“It’s okay. Anyway, its for Ken.” Bette winked at Tina. Also, it’s not like she couldn’t afford to buy every single item in the store. “Check this out..” She pointed eagerly at her find. “I’m getting this for Sam..”

“A snow globe?” Tina cocked an eyebrow.

Bette smiled and shook the object, sending faux snow all over the palm trees and the hula girl inside. She shoved the globe right in front of Tina’s face, making her go all cross-eyed. “Doesn’t she look like Sammy?”

“Uh, I guess so.” Tina shrugged. She couldn’t really see the resemblance – other than the fact that the hula girl had a sleepy expression on her face. “Babe? Are you really getting her a snow globe.. from Hawaii?”

“Yeah.” Bette answered, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. “Why not?”

Tina took the globe from Bette’s hand. “First of all, there is no snow in a tropical island.” She shook it for emphasis. “And secondly, be practical and get her something she can use and not a silly display item that would only end up in the deepest and darkest part of her closet.”

“But we love musical snow globes.” Bette whined, taking the object back from the blonde. “It’s our thing.”

Tina shook her head and chuckled. “Something tells me that I can’t really argue with you on this, huh?”

“Mm-hmm.” Bette nodded, putting the globe inside her basket. She was 100% sure that Sam would love it. “You all set?” She asked.

“Yeah.” Tina answered and together, they walked to the cash register. “What did you get Alice?” She asked curiously as her girlfriend unloaded the contents of the basket.

“This.” Bette smiled and held up the item.

    Tina’s jaw dropped down.

    “Porter!”

“What?” She grinned mischievously as she waved the wood carved dildo in front of the blonde. “It says Hawaii on the side. See?”

    2. There is so much that could happen, and you say the End is next…will they remain together or fall apart? I can finally read now that the tears have cleared, thanks for the post!!

    3. god how i love this story, every chapter is like a mini book! i’m not right stoked to read that the next will be the last though, i absolutely love how you write these two…especially bette! my only hope is that you keep them together and that you promise to carry on writing other stories…well????!

    4. What was Tina going to say to Bette on the beach? Will Tina be able to forgive Bette for not saying goodbye? Will Tina catch the next available flight out to Connecticut? I hope so… I can’t wait to see how you wrap everything up, but I’m really going to miss this story. Thanks for the chapter.

    5. This has/is an incredible story. I look for it daily and was so glad to see a post today. Please say it isn’t so, Your not ending it are you? Their still young and have slots to go through. A sequel maybe?.

    6. WOW!!!!! I just got a chance to read all 37 pages of it-it was a long one…but well worth it. I can understand why Bette went ahead & left-but Tina will be hurt…but I think she will understand. I hope they can work through this & I can’t wait for the next update. Great job.

    7. *Sniffle* Oh dear, this has got to be the saddest JTG chapter. *Sniffle* So begging on my knees didn’t work. *Sniffle* I don’t know how they’ll ever get to eternity when it’s hard to say they’ll even get to survive the next 24 hours, weeks or months apart. *Sniffle* I hope Tina will still change her mind but if not…then, *Thank you very much* for this lovely, funny, sometimes sexy high school TiBette tale. It’s been a great ride, Alchemy! *Crysmiles like Bette* Okay… I’m gonna go to a corner now and cry my heart out. Boohoo. :(

    8. Hey Alchemy! So glad to have you back with another chapter, but extremely sad that the end is coming. I have loved this story from the beginning as your writing is incredible. I have the feeling Tina had decided to go with Bette, but will maybe stick to their plan now that Bette has left. Bette’s letter had me teary-eyed which is one of the best things about your writing… one minute I’m laughing out loud, the next I’m choked up. Thanks for the post.
