“Don’t you wanna go near the water?”
“Maybe later. I’m still reading.”
“You hate that book..” Tina arched an eyebrow. Her girlfriend did nothing but complain when she had given that novel for her to read while in the shuttle. Bette had claimed that it was idiotic and badly written. And now here she was, pretending to like it all of a sudden?
“Hated.” Bette corrected. “Past tense, love. I hated it until I got to the nice parts on chapter three, then I started liking it.”
“Nice parts?” Tina’s brows furrowed in thought, searching her memory for something significant that happened on that chapter. Hmm.. she could only think of one. “You mean when Harriet makes an entrance?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Figures.” Tina shook her head and folded her arms. Harriet – a southern belle from the early 1900s with flowing blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. A heroine who was blessed with a bosom that threatened to spill out of every dress, possessed curves that looked hard and soft at the same time and walked around on flawless long legs.
“She’s hot.”
“She’s fictional.”
“Still.” Bette smirked. “She’s hot.”
“Whatever.” Tina rolled her eyes.
“Kinda reminds me of you.”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
Out in the near distance, the sound of waves hitting the beach called out to the blonde – enticing her out from the shade. Man, she really wanted to swim. If only Bette would drop the silly book and go with her, she thought longingly. Hmm.. maybe she could persuade her somehow? Tina suppressed a grin. Knowing her girlfriend’s weakness, she cuddled closer to Bette and nuzzled her neck, placing light kisses on the mocha skin. She frowned, her serious girlfriend didn’t even flinch. She tried again, this time alternating between kissing and licking the sensitive point. Still no reaction. Not even an appreciative moan. Oh God, time for drastic measures then. “Babe?”
“Hmm?”
“Harriet dies in the end.” Tina spoiled.
That got her attention. Bette dropped the book down on her lap. “Fuck.”
A naughty Tina bounded up to her feet, giggling to herself. “Now that you know what happens in the end, let’s go swim.”

wow that was a loooonnnnggg but fantastic chapter.how harsh is Bette just leaving for Yale like that!!!anyway,it will be a sad day when this story ends but yet i can’t wait til the end to find out what happens.PPS cheers
There is so much that could happen, and you say the End is next…will they remain together or fall apart? I can finally read now that the tears have cleared, thanks for the post!!
god how i love this story, every chapter is like a mini book! i’m not right stoked to read that the next will be the last though, i absolutely love how you write these two…especially bette! my only hope is that you keep them together and that you promise to carry on writing other stories…well????!
What was Tina going to say to Bette on the beach? Will Tina be able to forgive Bette for not saying goodbye? Will Tina catch the next available flight out to Connecticut? I hope so… I can’t wait to see how you wrap everything up, but I’m really going to miss this story. Thanks for the chapter.

This has/is an incredible story. I look for it daily and was so glad to see a post today. Please say it isn’t so, Your not ending it are you? Their still young and have slots to go through. A sequel maybe?.

WOW!!!!! I just got a chance to read all 37 pages of it-it was a long one…but well worth it. I can understand why Bette went ahead & left-but Tina will be hurt…but I think she will understand. I hope they can work through this & I can’t wait for the next update. Great job.
*Sniffle* Oh dear, this has got to be the saddest JTG chapter. *Sniffle* So begging on my knees didn’t work. *Sniffle* I don’t know how they’ll ever get to eternity when it’s hard to say they’ll even get to survive the next 24 hours, weeks or months apart. *Sniffle* I hope Tina will still change her mind but if not…then, *Thank you very much* for this lovely, funny, sometimes sexy high school TiBette tale. Hey Alchemy! So glad to have you back with another chapter, but extremely sad that the end is coming. I have loved this story from the beginning as your writing is incredible. I have the feeling Tina had decided to go with Bette, but will maybe stick to their plan now that Bette has left. Bette’s letter had me teary-eyed which is one of the best things about your writing… one minute I’m laughing out loud, the next I’m choked up. Thanks for the post.
