Bette clamped a hand over her mouth as Tina stood up and removed the cover-up that she had around her body.
“What’s wrong?” Tina looked at Bette as the girl struggled to hold her laughter in.
“Mmff..” Bette coughed, trying hard to maintain a straight face. Why didn’t she see this before they left the hotel room? “Uh, what the heck are you wearing?”
“This old thing?” The blonde consciously looked down at her one-piece swimsuit. It was halter neck suit – with a ring just below her breasts holding the two halves together. Oh, and it had a leopard print design. Kinda matronly, but she thought it was okay.. until now. “Jenny gave it to me for my birthday last year.”
“Schecter?” Bette let out a groan. “That’s why.”
“What’s wrong with it?”
“Nothing.” Bette bit the tip of her thumb. Be nice. Be nice. Be nice. She told herself over and over.
Be.. ah fuck it.
“Will Tarzan and the apes be joining us anytime soon Jane?” She smiled wickedly before letting all the pent up laughter out.
“Meanie!” Tina balled her cover-up and threw it at Bette, who quickly moved her head out of the way and continued to laugh.
“Rarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!” Bette made animal sounds as she formed her fingers like claws, continuing her teasing.
Although offended, the blonde played it cool and eventually gave in to laughter – finding her girlfriend’s good mood infectious.
They bantered back and forth good naturedly in between moments of relative peace. They exchanged lazy kisses here and there, basically enjoying each other’s company as they lay in seclusion. It had been so comfortable that Tina couldn’t help but to take a well deserved nap in Bette’s arms.
She woke up an hour later, feeling greatly refreshed and energized. After lathering her arms for the second time with sunscreen, the blonde threw the bottle back inside their tote bag. Feeling confident that she was now well protected from the sun’s onslaught, she decided that it was time to take a dip. Throwing a discreet glance at Bette, Tina sighed audibly.
“Babe, it’s a nice day out.”
“Mm-hmm.” The brunette answered distractedly, focusing all her attention on the paperback novel on her lap. Finding nothing to do when the blonde took a nap, she decided to read to kill time.

wow that was a loooonnnnggg but fantastic chapter.how harsh is Bette just leaving for Yale like that!!!anyway,it will be a sad day when this story ends but yet i can’t wait til the end to find out what happens.PPS cheers
There is so much that could happen, and you say the End is next…will they remain together or fall apart? I can finally read now that the tears have cleared, thanks for the post!!
god how i love this story, every chapter is like a mini book! i’m not right stoked to read that the next will be the last though, i absolutely love how you write these two…especially bette! my only hope is that you keep them together and that you promise to carry on writing other stories…well????!
What was Tina going to say to Bette on the beach? Will Tina be able to forgive Bette for not saying goodbye? Will Tina catch the next available flight out to Connecticut? I hope so… I can’t wait to see how you wrap everything up, but I’m really going to miss this story. Thanks for the chapter.

This has/is an incredible story. I look for it daily and was so glad to see a post today. Please say it isn’t so, Your not ending it are you? Their still young and have slots to go through. A sequel maybe?.

WOW!!!!! I just got a chance to read all 37 pages of it-it was a long one…but well worth it. I can understand why Bette went ahead & left-but Tina will be hurt…but I think she will understand. I hope they can work through this & I can’t wait for the next update. Great job.
*Sniffle* Oh dear, this has got to be the saddest JTG chapter. *Sniffle* So begging on my knees didn’t work. *Sniffle* I don’t know how they’ll ever get to eternity when it’s hard to say they’ll even get to survive the next 24 hours, weeks or months apart. *Sniffle* I hope Tina will still change her mind but if not…then, *Thank you very much* for this lovely, funny, sometimes sexy high school TiBette tale. Hey Alchemy! So glad to have you back with another chapter, but extremely sad that the end is coming. I have loved this story from the beginning as your writing is incredible. I have the feeling Tina had decided to go with Bette, but will maybe stick to their plan now that Bette has left. Bette’s letter had me teary-eyed which is one of the best things about your writing… one minute I’m laughing out loud, the next I’m choked up. Thanks for the post.
