    Chapter 28, Part 2: Ladies, get in line (Bette and Tina visit the CAC and we meet a few new faces)

     

    Bette looked back and forth between Tina and Franklin and finally said, “Excuse us, Mr. Franklin, but I need to talk to Tina for a moment.”

     

    Alice remained in the office and began asking some questions about the exhibit, while trying to listen to Bette and Tina’s conversation.

     

    Bette took Tina outside and whispered, “Tina, what are you doing? Me…working here? You don’t want to be with me anymore?”

     

    Tina smiled and gave Bette a hug before answering, “Of course not, Bette. I was just thinking that since you love art so much, this gallery will be the perfect place for you to work. I don’t mind staying home with you day after day but next month I have to go back to work in the office and I don’t want you to stay alone in the house. And here at least you will be surrounded by art and priceless masterpieces.”

     

    “You are the only masterpiece I want to be surrounded by,” Bette said softly, making Tina’s heart beat faster, “But Tee, I don’t know anything about this job…I’ve never done anything like this. I’d never work a day in my life, except for painting and a charity work back home…what if I will do something wrong?”

     

    “Baby, you are very intelligent and a quick learner…it only took a few hours to figure out how to work my remote control,” Tina chuckled and caressed Bette’s cheek. “I have faith in you. You will do just great and it will also help you to blend in so no one could question where you came from.”

     

    Bette leaned into the sweet caress and smiled, “Maybe you’re right. I miss painting and this job could be interesting…thanks, Tee.”

     

    They were about to go back to the office when a tall, gorgeous brunette passed them by and turned into Franklin’s office, as well. Bette suddenly felt shivers and looked at Tina to see if she had noticed anything. Tina let the woman pass and took Bette’s hand, leading her back to the office.

     

    ‘I probably imagined things,’ Bette thought, following Tina.

     

    “Ah, ladies, allow me to introduce you to Helena Peabody, one of our board members and the current head of The Peabody Foundation. Helena, this is Tina Kennard and Bette Porter. Ms. Porter will be working here as my new assistant. And this is Alice Pese…Piezi…”

    1. Whoa…I missed this last night. I went to bed before you posted, but it was a triffic surprise when I got home from work tonight! So, Bette is going to work…will Tina get her a Social Security Number? You little devil…throwing in Candace. Super update and you know what B&TF, if people aren’t reading this story, it is their loss, because it is a great story. It’s haunting like the movie Somewhere in Time.

And again, I’m really sorry if I haven’t commented on the last few chapters, but I’ve been ourt of town for a couple of weeks and then my internet connection has been down for almost a week… So anyways, let’s just say I’ve only started catching up on my fan fiction reading yesterday. And usual, no matter how many chapters I read in a row, I confess I always want more of this story !! This is how talented you are B&TF !

    4. Maybe Helena and Candace can hook up and leave Bette and Tina alone. Alice is right, both Bette and Tina are hot and anybody in their right mind would find one or both extremely sizzling.

    5. Uh, B$TF [whispering] The last chapter got 4 comments. So 4 is magical,too. Besides, Jennfer Beals luvs you. Nothing else matters !!!! You’ve complicated the plot with Candace and Helena. I guess The Twink and Nadia wouldn’t quite fit the romance. Anyway, I can’t wait for the magical 3 next chapter.
