Just The Girl – Chapter Fifty Three (a HYD-inspired fic)

“It is when the results barely makes you look human.”

    “I guess.” Bette shrugged.

Looking into her digital wristwatch, Shane lifted a finger and silenced her friends. “Okay, the guard will be making his second inspection in a while. We have twenty minutes to do the last step and clear the area.” She clapped her hands and drove her friends into action. Converging towards the second statue, the members of F4 bent down and with a combined effort, began to lift.

    Graduation Ceremony.

The air was thick with anticipation as excited students and their proud parents littered the courtyard leading up to the amphitheater. All around, happy voices filled the space with euphoric squeals resounding from time to time. Customary hugs between friends and longtime classmates were exchanged as well as bittersweet tears. Dressed in deep blue togas with yellow tassels to represent Redwind Academy’s colors, the majority of students giddily shifted on their feet with every second that ticked by. This was it, in a few minutes, the ceremony that would mark the end of their memorable, yet oftentimes awkward, high school days would begin. The thought was enough to send all hearts aflutter and suppressed emotions on a tailspin.

The overall excitement felt by everyone reached a fevered pitch when the graduation march started playing from the speakers. It was a cue that the program was about to begin. Like a well oiled machine, volunteers from lower batches filed out of the side doors and ushered the high profile parents and other family members inside the amphitheater. They guided them to their designated seats, prepping them for the march that was about to take place. Outside, assigned members of the faculty stood near the gates and raised different colored flags – a system that was designed to help arrange the students alphabetically with ease. With the small clusters of friends dispersing one by one, the soon-to-be graduates began to fall in line.

At the middle of the green formation, right behind the Kelley heiress from 4-D, Tina Kennard was standing still, lost in her own thoughts. Trying to absorb the multitude of sights and sounds surrounding her for memory’s sake, she gave out a loud sigh. It was only now that she finally got the chance to take everything in, with the hours leading up to this event largely spent on consoling an emotional Ken. Her dad had been teary eyed during the drive to school, and she wouldn’t be surprised if he started bawling again when her name was called on stage.

    1. See… My heart dropped at page 30. I knew something sad was on its way. I really love how you write. So good! Soooo good! But please fix this. It’s too good to end it like how I think it is. Unless you’re doing it like the show which has a chapter 2.

    2. Oh, no! I feared this might happen, but I trust you to make everything turn out right for our girls. BTW since you left it like that, you can’t keep us waiting long!

    3. i can’t believe tina wants to go to different schools… and could under stand if it was money… but thats not an issue… i some times don’t under stand her… she has to realize bette will not go to yale… ok i trust you to make things right… MERRY CHRISTMAS… to you and your family… PPS

    4. i absolutely love, love love this story and i get frustrated at the length of time between posts but when you post you soooooo make it for it!! The way you write these two (especially Bette) is just brilliant even though its quite obvious Bette is whipped by Tina i’m not sure it’s all gonna go Tinas way this time…can they really be parted long term?!! pps!

    5. Man, I was having withdrawls & it wasn’t pretty…I am so glad that you are back. It was a long chapter & was way wirth the read. very funny & sexy.. I loved F4’S pranks-they were classic. Great job!!!!!

    6. What a power Tina’sgotover Bette? A bit sad at the end. Hope Tina will go with Bette. These two can not be apart. Thank you for the long chapter, you are rock. PPS

    7. Noooo long disyance never works. Suck it up Tina and go to Yale or just let Bette go to USC, it really doesn’t matter where you go to school, it’s how you run with the big boys! PPS

    8. ur gonna split them up. tina is right bette needs to grow and so does she.. distance will only make the heart grow fonder! please don’t let tina hook up with guys:)PPS

    9. Damn, I so saw that coming but still my heart broke a liitle. I am glad Tina is going to give Bette what she needs. I just hope they make it through college still together. I love this Story. Thank you

    10. Wow, a 33-page update. You’re an awesome writer, Alchemy. The lovebirds’ “unique” reviewing method in the last chapter is awfully funny! :> I’m not familiar with HYD but I have a bad feeling on how this story is gonna end. So Alchemy, if I go down on my knees and beg, would you consider deviating from the probable gloomy ending of that story and give us a happy ending instead? I don’t know how their relationship will survive such distance and painful parting. There’s enough gloom in the real world right now what with the global recession and all the other shit that when I retreat into the fictional world of these young, horny lovebirds, I just want to see them happy, together and in love. Please, please fix this ending, Alchemy. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this story and writing these lovely, kilometric updates! And Merry Chrismas to you and your loved ones!!! :>
