Bette was shaking her head at hearing the rules, half laughing and half in complete disbelief, knowing full well that Tina would be sticking to this if it killed her. “What about when we go to bed tonight?”
“Well see if youve been good! And anyway, Bette, we made love twice this morning”
“Three times actually, you just happened to be asleep through the first rendezvous” Bette raised an eyebrow, smiling at having corrected Tina.
“Ok, smart ass, three times this morning and we must have clocked at least a dozen times between Thursday evening and all day yesterday. I think youve had plenty to keep you going!” Tinas eyes were sparkling as she spoke, noticing the incredulous look on Bettes face. She knew she would have an answer coming in the next seconds, it would be very unlike Bette not to have a come back for her in response to what she had just pointed out, a pleading of some sort, a compromise, or just plain overpowering so that Tina got so worked up that her mind and body wouldnt be able to fight the power of Porter.
Bette thought about her pending conversation with the concierge of the hotel she had booked this morning, shed let Tina have her fun of abstinence, for now, but she would show her how she could apologise, the idea had come to her after she had scrawled her message in the sand, but she wanted to go a step further than that and she knew just the way, Tina would love it, and she could also follow it up for when they came back from their meal.
Bette glanced at Tina, she knew she was anticipating a response by the look she was being given, “Ok, fair enough. I still think we should get going now though, by the time we get to the hotel and check in, we have an hour or so to relax before getting ready.” Bette began to gather their belongings together, her peripheral vision allowing her to see that Tina was looking at her with a look of astonishment on her face. One to me I think, nice one Porter, she thought to herself and gave an inward smile.
Tina silently shook her head, not rising to the surprising answer Bette had given her, they both packed their belongings and began the walk back to the car, quiet and thoughtful, their visit to the beach had been eventful to say the least, many emotions, many thoughts, many turbulent feelings for Bette and a chance meeting with a little girl who had almost certainly changed the course of Bettes actions for the better and made her think about an aspect of her life differently in an instant.

This is a great fic by a brillant writer. LOVE the communication and the admittance and acknowledgement of fault by both parties, especially Betty, it shows her growth. This is so eloquently written.

I love how you can take simple words and turn them into this flowing story full of love. You have taken this couple from utter despair to the highest mountain and into the sea of delight. I have always loved Bette and Tina together and with the help of your story you have reminded me of the absolute love that a person can have for another. What ever seems to be thrown at them you have allowed them to work throught it and that seems to have brought them closer as a couple. IC and company should take lessons from your story telling. Then maybe they will treat Bette and Tina the way that most of us would love to see them.
Jo, as usual another fantastic chapter. If I remember correctly you left a comment on another author’s chapter calling her an ole slushy romantic. After this chapter I think that would accurately describe you also.

There are some chapters of a story that make your heart beat a little faster….there usually NC17s……this chapter just proves that it doesnt have to be NC anything…..to actually make your heart skip a few beats….no matter how many times you read it….Romance at its best!
