As Bette unlocked the car Tina got into the passenger seat while Bette placed their bags in the trunk, she removed her cell phone and walked a few paces away from the car to make her phone call.
Tina sat waiting for Bette to get into the car, when she didnt appear she turned to look for her, she noticed she was standing with her back to the car and looked to be talking into her phone, Tina creased her brow, wondering what Bette was up to.
“Ok, thats great, I really appreciate it, I will settle up with you when we arrive, sure, well be there in about half an hour, can you make sure its in place for when we arrive, just as we discussed? Great, thanks Bye” Bette disconnected her call and made her way back to the car.
“What were you doing?” Tina asked as Bette sat beside her.
“Just making a call T, nothing to worry about!” she smiled across at her love, leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on the enquiring lips.
Their journey was made in relative silence, odd words spoken, both women seemingly in thoughtful retreat, their eyes taking in the attractive coastal scenery as the car meandered along the slightly winding roads, the gentle wind tousling their hair as the warm air embraced the contrasting dark curls and the fine blonde mane.
Bette pulled the Saab up in front of the hotel, Tina looked up at the imposing building, impressed by the choice Bette had made, she glanced over at Bette, who was looking at her, watching for a reaction, “very nice Bette, Im impressed. To what do I owe pleasure of you booking us into such an extravagant hotel?”
Bette smiled, pleased with the initial impression that Tina had on their overnight accommodation, “I happen to think youre worth it!” She gave a wink and got out of the car to retrieve their overnight bags.
She handed her keys over and they made their way into the hotel, the cool air of the air conditioning giving instant goose bumps on their sun warmed skin, the large reception area was bright and stark as the vast white marble floor and matching obelisks holding large floral displays surrounded the seating area for visitors. Bette encouraged Tina to sit while she sorted out their booking.

This is a great fic by a brillant writer. LOVE the communication and the admittance and acknowledgement of fault by both parties, especially Betty, it shows her growth. This is so eloquently written.

I love how you can take simple words and turn them into this flowing story full of love. You have taken this couple from utter despair to the highest mountain and into the sea of delight. I have always loved Bette and Tina together and with the help of your story you have reminded me of the absolute love that a person can have for another. What ever seems to be thrown at them you have allowed them to work throught it and that seems to have brought them closer as a couple. IC and company should take lessons from your story telling. Then maybe they will treat Bette and Tina the way that most of us would love to see them.
Jo, as usual another fantastic chapter. If I remember correctly you left a comment on another author’s chapter calling her an ole slushy romantic. After this chapter I think that would accurately describe you also.

There are some chapters of a story that make your heart beat a little faster….there usually NC17s……this chapter just proves that it doesnt have to be NC anything…..to actually make your heart skip a few beats….no matter how many times you read it….Romance at its best!
