    B&T 9 years after season 1: Eli meets the girls

     

    Kit: "But."

     

    Bette looked over at Kit before a downcast look replaced her smile and she looked back down.

     

    Bette: "Even if we were able to start again, I don’t know how this could work out. They live in New York and by all accounts they’re very happy. My life’s here. I’m going to be opening my second gallery I can’t just leave." Bette sighed and looked back up. "I haven’t even processed everything yet, for now I’m just going to focus on getting to know Eli. And like Tina said the rest we’ll figure out when she gets here. Theirs no reason for me to get my hopes up before we even had an honest conversation about us."

     

    Alice: "You’re not even going to ask her about his name?"

     

    Bette: "I haven’t decided yet. I could ask her over the phone or I can wait until she’s in California…I want to know but I don’t want to risk getting in a fight with her. I don’t know why she would give him my last name but not let me take part in his life. I would have given anything to have been able to raise him with her. Honestly I’m starting to get upset over the fact that she didn’t give me the chance to get to know him sooner, but then I think about what I did to her…what we did to each other. But why did she have to move to New York?" Bette was trying really hard not to cry she didn’t want Eli to look over and see her like this.

     

    Kit and Alice scooted closer to her and put their arms around her.

     

    Shane: "None of us wanted her to leave or even expected her to be gone so long. But for some reason she felt like she had to leave…you may not agree with her reasons, but if she had stayed then there wouldn’t be Eli. You know Tina better than any of us you know there has to be a good reason she didn’t come back sooner. I don’t like to tell people what to do, but if you got at this the wrong way it could be the second biggest mistake of your life."

    3. Dainty is very smart. To put two and two together .Elizabeth Porter and Eli Porter Kennard. Eli reminds me of Bette so knowledgeable and always ready to learn more. He will love Bette the way Tina does forever. He have surrounded with lots of love and a Mom that knows heart ache. I caught the He wasnt a woman and some one else had her love.     4. This story is definitely a winner. I just love it and the way you’re unfolding the different characters. Dialogue is excellent and I do appreciate the longer chapters. I can really get engrossed in it.

    7. This story is awesome! I hope there is nothing wrong with Tina and that her naming Eli after her 1st love, is only because she missed and loves her so much. The story is happy and upbeat and I hope if there is any drama, that its minimal.

    19. well i just read all 10 chapters and i love this story… i am so glad they are nice to each other over the phone and that tina didn’t go crazy when bette started to yell about taking eli back… when she was going to ask bette to keep him for the week… so now when tina comes to visit… i hope she also gets to stay with bette… she has plenty of room… please continue

    24. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT. Uuummmmm, love the story or couldn’t you tell. This was a fantastic chapter, so happy that everyone got along so well as I knew they would. Just knew that everyone would love Eli and just surround him with lots of love and most of all Bette would love him more, and his mother. Can hardly wait for Tina to get there just possibly the next day. I don’t believe she will wait another 2 or 3 days, if she is not already in California. I hope she will explain that since he was a boy she oculd not name him Elizabeth, so she shortened the name to Eli Porter, makes sense to me. Post again soon, please.
