    B&T 9 years after season 1: Eli meets the girls

     

    Alice and Bette were listening in on the conversation, and Alice was feeling a bit left out.

     

    Alice: "I wrote a story about some skateboarders, I won’t call myself an expert but I hung out with a few skaters for my story." Shane and Bette were shooting Alice questioning look.

     

    Shane: "I don’t remember ever reading that story. What was your angle?"

     

    Alice: "You know all those extreme sports are really popular. So Eli, what kind of tricks can you do?"

     

    Eli: "Um really just a few tricks. I can land a kickflip, boardslide, I’ve been trying to land frontside flips but I don’t always stay on my feet. I can 50-50 a rail or ledge but I haven’t been able to do a frontside boardslide I’m not confident enough to try those. But I do ollie off stairs."

     

    Eli looked over at Shane since he saw a look of recognition cross her face. Alice quickly turned to Bette and spoke in a low voice.

     

    Alice: "Did you catch all that?"

     

    Bette: "I understood about as much as you did, and you never wrote a story about extreme sports."

     

    Shane: "Well you can already do more then I could but what kind of problem do you have with landing the frontside?"

     

    Eli: "Well I can do the kickflip part but when I try to get it to do the 90 degree turn it doesn’t turn all the way and my board ends up landing sideways. I kind of know what my problem is I just have to practice some more."

     

    Bette: "What was that part where you ollie off of stairs. Is that dangerous?"

     

    Shane: "It can be if you’re not safe and you have to be really comfortable on your board before you try it."

     

    Eli: "I always have my helmet on even though most people don’t really wear them when they skate. It’s a compromise I’ve made with my mom."

     

    Alice: "damn peer pressure." Alice was shaking her head from side to side when everyone turned to look at her. "What?" Everyone started to laugh at Alice. "Whatever, so Eli did you bring your skateboard with you?"

     

    Eli: "I wanted to but mom thought I’d have trouble getting it through airport security so I left it behind. I did bring my helmet just in case. I figured I could probably buy one down here if I had the chance."

    3. Dainty is very smart. To put two and two together .Elizabeth Porter and Eli Porter Kennard. Eli reminds me of Bette so knowledgeable and always ready to learn more. He will love Bette the way Tina does forever. He have surrounded with lots of love and a Mom that knows heart ache. I caught the He wasnt a woman and some one else had her love.     4. This story is definitely a winner. I just love it and the way you’re unfolding the different characters. Dialogue is excellent and I do appreciate the longer chapters. I can really get engrossed in it.

    7. This story is awesome! I hope there is nothing wrong with Tina and that her naming Eli after her 1st love, is only because she missed and loves her so much. The story is happy and upbeat and I hope if there is any drama, that its minimal.

Eli seems to know that both of them are still very much in love with each other. It is going to interesting when Tina explains her naming Eli with Bette’s last name. Post when you can.

    19. well i just read all 10 chapters and i love this story… i am so glad they are nice to each other over the phone and that tina didn’t go crazy when bette started to yell about taking eli back… when she was going to ask bette to keep him for the week… so now when tina comes to visit… i hope she also gets to stay with bette… she has plenty of room… please continue

    24. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT. Uuummmmm, love the story or couldn’t you tell. This was a fantastic chapter, so happy that everyone got along so well as I knew they would. Just knew that everyone would love Eli and just surround him with lots of love and most of all Bette would love him more, and his mother. Can hardly wait for Tina to get there just possibly the next day. I don’t believe she will wait another 2 or 3 days, if she is not already in California. I hope she will explain that since he was a boy she oculd not name him Elizabeth, so she shortened the name to Eli Porter, makes sense to me. Post again soon, please.
