That didn’t stop both Bette and Dana from laughing at her, though.

    **********

Alice was surprised at how good it felt to finally let go of all the pent-up anxiety she’d been feeling since Dana had come home. It was comforting that her psychologist considered her dreams a normal reaction to trauma, and that he also found nothing strange in the fact that Alice still sometimes couldn’t distinguish dream from reality.

“It’s a bit like your mind playing tricks,” he said soothingly. “Your brain, whether you wanted it to or not, already saw the scenario of Dana dying. Since she barely recovered from that, and since you literally saw her die, there’s nothing at all abnormal about your dreams continuing that scenario. It’s a very natural response, and I think that in time the dreams will start to fade out. You’ll have to do a lot of talking and possibly some regression therapy, but you should be just fine. Your brain is just under a lot of stress, especially since Dana’s not entirely recovered yet. With time, though, you’ll have no problem seeing the difference between the dream and your life. In the meantime, I’ll get one of my colleagues to prescribe you some mild sleeping pills that should help take the edge off the dreams, and we’ll need to make regular appointments to talk over your feelings. For today, we’ve made a lot of progress. If you’d like to take a seat in the waiting room, I’ll see what I can do about that prescription.”

Alice heaved a sigh of relief as she took a seat. She’d just started to relax when she realized that the woman three seats down from her was Papi’s angry friend Tasha. Stumbling through a quick hello, Alice made small talk for a few minutes, pleasantly surprised by how friendly Tasha was. Still, there was something closed off about her…which, Alice suspected, was why she was here in the first place.

The psych ward’s waiting room was fairly closed off, aside from the loudspeaker that sent announcements through the hospital. They ignored most of them, but as a call for all available doctors to the ER for help with a ten-car accident came over the speaker, Alice shook her head. “I bet it looks like Iraq down there,” she joked.

    1. Bravo! I love seeing these two working things out and how much they truly love each other. Plus they get all the support from their best friends. I must say, the whole witnessing someone dying thing has to be the most traumatic experience. You really nailed it in Alice/Tasha conversaton. Your writing is so real. I often can picture the scenes unfold in my head. Thanks again for a wonderful chapter. Will Alice become really successful because of the chart and still drive the mini? Hope so. I am a little apprehensive about Tahsa though. Alice by nature is a caring person. I just hope that her love for Dana will keep her out of trouble. Can’t wait for your next post. btw, it’s water under bridge regarding “on the boards” last night. There is no need for apology. I was not even slightly displeased. Hope today is better for you. Can’t wait for you next post.

    2. As always Muted you make me smile at all of your updates for our Danish. Sorry haven’t posted a comment in a while, but i have read them all and love your writing dearly. It always amazes me how i can see what you write in my mind. it is so much better then the show itself, i might not watch and just read your stuff instead :). ok, i’ll peak, only because of leisha though, keep up with the happy mood:) and the writing!

    3. Once again my Sunday Danish fix, yay! Nice job in getting Tasha into the picture. Actually it’s kinda freakish how well you blend these characters into your story with close to actual storylines/dialogue from the show. I have to say your description of Dana’s eyes toward the end of the chapter just about melted my entire being, thanx!? Seriously, this story makes the actual show look like one big nightmare; I’m with Dana and Alice this has to be the reality…!

    4. Babe you know I heart you and I heart this story, I really liked the was you got Tasha to open up a bit, I’m so loving my version of paws in this. I also loved the NC-17 well you knew I do anyway hehe.

    5. I cannot express the excitement I felt when I saw an update. I haven’t quite had my danish fix besides watching my season 1 and 2 dvds. I’m so estatic about Dana mentioning kids with Alice. Too cute. Hope to see another soon.

    6. hey, really good Alice & Tasha convo you created here. Very believable and real. Alice’s therapy sounds like a lot of work for both of them. Great great update!Nice to hear about your happyness in the private life department. Hope it works out for you. And hey, shut up about the ugly stuff, you’re silly if you think that. I just meant that you have a talent for words and writing and I’m sure talking as well. That also would have to mean you are charming and all the other stuff love and flirting requires, lol. So: good luck!
