She decided against asking Ruth to lunch, since the poor lady was stuck in meetings the rest of the afternoon anyway, but she went over to the Planet and bought her a veggie wrap, which she took back over to the station. Afterward, she called Helena and learned that she was indeed available for lunch. They agreed to meet at a little bistro close to both the hospital and the Department of Child Services.
The lunch went well. Helena talked about Dylan the entire time, and Alice was happy for her. She didn’t talk much, and Helena wisely didn’t ask her what was wrong. She just kept talking, and Alice was relieved. Any of her other friends would have interrogated her about the PTSD appointment, but Helena never even brought it up. She knew how difficult it had been for Alice, and how much things were still weighing on her, regardless of whether or not she talked about it.
Alice, for her part, was genuinely happy for her friend and glad that she and Peggy seemed to have made up a little bit. Helena was excited to announce that she and Peggy were getting along better than they ever had, and that she quite frankly didn’t miss all the millions. As long as her children had access to the money, she honestly didn’t care whether or not she did.
The conversation was good, and so was the food, but before too long Helena had to go back to her job, and Alice had to get ready to head to her appointment. She hugged Helena and sighed, realizing that she couldn’t put off talking about her jumbled feelings any longer. It was a little hard to deal with, but she’d made a promise to Dana and the rest of her friends, and there was no way she’d break it no matter how uncomfortable she was with the entire idea.
While Alice was having her internal struggle, Dana was standing in the vet’s office. Socks was healthy, and although she was too young to spay at that point in time, the vet suggested she be brought back within a few months for just that. She was good on her shots and everything else looked good, so Dana walked out not long after with a healthy kitten. Bette answered on the second ring, and was there before half an hour had passed. After taking Socks home, feeding her and letting her use the litter box, Dana set her in her bed and went to the Planet with Bette. Kit joined them for lunch, and the early afternoon went by pretty nicely before Bette and Dana went to Wax.

Bravo! I love seeing these two working things out and how much they truly love each other. Plus they get all the support from their best friends. I must say, the whole witnessing someone dying thing has to be the most traumatic experience. You really nailed it in Alice/Tasha conversaton. Your writing is so real. I often can picture the scenes unfold in my head. Thanks again for a wonderful chapter. Will Alice become really successful because of the chart and still drive the mini? Hope so. I am a little apprehensive about Tahsa though. Alice by nature is a caring person. I just hope that her love for Dana will keep her out of trouble. Can’t wait for your next post. btw, it’s water under bridge regarding “on the boards” last night. There is no need for apology. I was not even slightly displeased. Hope today is better for you. Can’t wait for you next post.
As always Muted you make me smile at all of your updates for our Danish. Sorry haven’t posted a comment in a while, but i have read them all and love your writing dearly. It always amazes me how i can see what you write in my mind. it is so much better then the show itself, i might not watch and just read your stuff instead :). ok, i’ll peak, only because of leisha though, keep up with the happy mood:) and the writing!

Once again my Sunday Danish fix, yay! Nice job in getting Tasha into the picture. Actually it’s kinda freakish how well you blend these characters into your story with close to actual storylines/dialogue from the show. I have to say your description of Dana’s eyes toward the end of the chapter just about melted my entire being, thanx!? Seriously, this story makes the actual show look like one big nightmare; I’m with Dana and Alice this has to be the reality…!
Babe you know I heart you and I heart this story, I really liked the was you got Tasha to open up a bit, I’m so loving my version of paws in this. I also loved the NC-17 well you knew I do anyway hehe.
I cannot express the excitement I felt when I saw an update. I haven’t quite had my danish fix besides watching my season 1 and 2 dvds. I’m so estatic about Dana mentioning kids with Alice. Too cute. Hope to see another soon.
