Trouble in Designer Suits Ch.34
Turns had been taken in the shower and clothes borrowed and slowly everyone at least seemed to look human
enough to make it through the day. We were all planning to spend the afternoon at the beach, relaxing and reflecting and grabbing a few more hours together before the weekend came to a close and real life restarted.
Funny really that this seemed a perfect morning as the night had been. Not the huge romantic passionate night that I am sure Andy had planned but it really was as it was meant to be. Time with these women was never a bad thing and the fact that they all needed a little TLC well who would I be to complain that it was my turn for a few of them after all that had been done for me.
Shane and Carmen headed out with promises to meet us up at the beach later in the day leaving us with just the Porter Kennard clan for the rest of the morning we moved to enjoy the early morning sun and I was soon left with only Bette as our wives drifted back into a dream world for a few much needed, extra hours of sleep. We sat in companionable silence watching Angie and Katie play with Holly in the pool,
each lost on our own thoughts for a while before she spoke.
“So was it all that you wanted? I am so sorry for the state we all got into, got Andy into more to the point.”
I smiled and patted her hand reassuringly as I answered.
“Bette it was more than I ever imagined it would be, and as for the end it was great you all had so much fun Andy included and so what we have two weeks to enjoy being newlyweds again and everyone
needed that sort of night more. It was in the end exactly as it should have been. And even Andy knows that though she was a little sheepish at passing out in her gown and not making it to the suite she had booked for the night at the four seasons.”
Bette too looked as guilty as my wife as she explained that she had known about the booking and Tina too but had been in no better state than my wife to let me know of the surprise and even less so to ensure we got there. I knew how the world viewed Bette and Andy, the ultimate alpha’s ruthless and hard but polished and beautiful so many wanted to be them or be with them but they had no idea that the real women were so much
more than the facade that they showed outside the comfort of their homes and families was the part really worth seeing. The silliness they were capable of the tenderness and love and loyalty and humour the soft centre that they would rather die most days than admit was the real them and the guilty school girl
look that Bette had as we joked about the missed surprise was just one of the things I knew few would ever see. But then in a flash it was gone replaced by a more serious expression.
