Trouble in Designer Suits Ch.34
Carmen has been taken inside and put on the sofa after just plain passing out and Shane was found asleep on an armchair when it was noticed she had been MIA for a suspicious amount of time.
Andy was out of the game but still awake and seemed to think she was being
helpful cheering Libby on. Libby was green but seemed determined to see it through
to the bitter end. Rachel, and I think this is a con, seemed pretty okay, I
feel there may be a family gene and some practice helping her out. Dana, well
my lovely Dana is still in her seat at the table but is asleep with her head
back and snoring up a storm. God I love that woman.
Connor was designated barman at the event and seemed relieved to be out of the action but not entirely steady on his feet. I watched on as Karen baulked unable to drink anymore and was
declared out before she promptly headed inside no doubt to pray for a while to
the porcelain god,
I sit and watch and enjoy and realise that maybe being the grown up is not so bad as memories like this are
worth so much well that and the fact that they would be good bargaining tools
in the weeks to come. The crowed had thinned and only family remained. The sun
long set and the day all but over with everyone seemingly happy for the women
to indulge in some rowdy and adolescent behaviour, letting their hair down
after the strain of pulling off the day amid many distractions and much
turmoil.
Without exception everyone here was happy, content, at peace. It was a good feeling and one I was more than happy to know I had witnessed and more to the point would remember so in the
morning but for now as the games wrapped up I made to help get people to beds
and cars and ensure that everyone had a suitable place to pass out and
supervision that would ensure they got there. As I loaded my brood into one of
the cars Peggy had laid on I knew I was walking away from one of life’s truly
perfect days.

I was making a huge effort to not make too much noise. I had been up a while as due to genetics I think I was
pretty sure I would be the only one not suffering massively this morning. There had been no passionate wedding night, no sneaking away to be together just a night with friends that had ended with a lot of laughter and even more alcohol. Juvenile behaviour and a few too many of my friends and my wife passing out
rather than falling asleep. As I had helped Alice and Kit and her thankfully large and strong date get everyone off or bedded down it had mattered little. There was time for us to be together, a honeymoon and a life to live but the day had been as it should have, full of family till the end.
