Trouble in Designer Suits Ch.34
We had been deep in conversation and had not noticed that we were no longer the only ones awake until she spoke.
“I know Bette I know it will I trust you with that, you’re the only one I trust with that. It will be fun to watch you work up close. and as my wife here so brilliantly put I hope that it helps you see my story a little clearer the parts and emotions I am so lousy at expressing in normal human ways.”
With a chuckle at her own vulnerable moment Andy was up and jumping fully clothed in the pool with the
kids, back to silliness and fun before we had to head out but a new level of understanding reached between these two Alpha’s that I loved so much, and who loved each other but who from time to time needed a mediator or more accurately a translator as they built a relationship unfamiliar to both of them.
As Bette albeit at least taking the time to strip down to a swimsuit joined those in the water Tina opened one
eye and spoke, partly reading my thoughts and shocking me that she had feigned sleep and listened in.
“It’s like a different language right, interpreting the things they say and do and understanding them and then learning how she interprets what you say and do? But I can tell you have had practice you handle her like a pro. She gets twitchy with the emotional stuff.”
I chuckled at my friend as I threw an ice cube at her accusing her of dodging tricky topics and pretending
to sleep due to her hangover, reminding her I had a twitchy wife of my own to handle and that she should step up and help in these situations then I had a thought and mocked despair as I spoke.
“You know one day they will be all grown up and be able to interact fully without supervision then they may not need us at all.”
“Yeah and pigs might fly Rachel. Those women with all their flaws and brilliance love us and need us and always will. We are stuck with them for life. And you know as well as I do that there is no where either of us would rather be.”
As we stood and went in to fix lunch for our women and kids I knew just how right she was. In life her
statement would always be true if I was with her and my family there was absolutely nowhere in the world I would rather be.
