    Bette and Tina talk

    “Henry is a good man “

    “I am not saying for a second that he beats you or drugs you to have sex with him “

    It would have to be a bloody powerful drug for me to sleep with him though Alice thought.

    “But he’s instantly forgettable Tina – you could line up all of Bette’s enemies to list her failings and personality flaws and not one of them would say that she is forgettable.”

    Tina knew that Alice was right — Bette was memorable – she could never quiet get her out of her head just like she knew she could not get her out of her heart.

    “I care about him “

    “But do you love him Tina – love him with the all consuming passion that you love Bette

     

    Tina turned her head away from Alice –knowing the tense that Alice had emphasised – she had said love and not loved.

    “She’s obviously moved on from me Alice — she’s pregnant”

    “She isn’t wearing a ring if that’s what is worrying you. Trust me – if Bette was involved with someone to the extent of having a child with them she’d be wearing a ring. I don’t know because we’ve hardly talked but she hasn’t mentioned anyone and if she was with someone — don’t you think they’d be with her ?”

    Tina nodded – Alice was talking total sense to her. Her heart did ache for Bette. It was only the shock that had prevented her from running down the church and flinging her arms around her former wife.

    “How long is she here ? “

    “A week — she vowed to Dana that she would spend some time with me “

    “That’s sweet Alice – what she said at the church about Dana was just perfect “

    Alice reached for a tissue and dabbed her eyes

     

    “It was perfect – I am going to ask Bette if she has it all written down – I want to treasure that forever “

    Tina pulled Alice into her arms and they hugged tighter.

     

    “She makes speeches up as she goes – well she used to – the poem

    was beautiful – maybe you could get that framed “

    20. I am with AmandaMG, Tina needs to lean in a gently kiss Bette. With that kiss becoming longer and deeper showing not only all around them that they are in love, but to let Henry know that it is over between him and Tina. No words need to be spoken just actions. Yippee, this is getting good.

    37. Ally, AGain thank you for reposting chapter 4. To have it and the following one was a joy to behold and indugle in. I love the gentleness of this story. The path back to where you belong is often fraught with danger and the inteferences of others even if they are often well-intentioned. It looks like Bette and Tina are ready to reaquaint themselves with each other but Henry may have a thing to say ans do about it but I know that Alice, Kit and Shane will be there to nourish and nuture the budding romance and reunion of two lost souls. Wonderful, wonderful writing. Thank you for all of your marvelous melodrama. Your Loyal Fan.

    39. EXCELLENT and so beautifully done. Now it is time for Alice and her compadraes to spring into action–Mission (and you WILL accept it) to get B&T together in a weeks time by having them spend the maxium amount of time together. I am soooo glad that they both risked it all and really opened up to each other. Alice talk to Tina was PRICELESS. Henry it is all over with the exception of doing the dirty dishes, have some pride about yourself and accept it. Look for someone else to be your “Baby’s mama” LOL.
