    The Long and Winding Road Chapter Four+Five

    Previously :

    For Bette walking into the Planet felt surreal. She was tired and the journey in the car from the Church had been an emotional one for her. Alice had launched into one of her monologues about what everyone was doing and stories about people that Bette barely knew – she knew it was to disguise how Al was feeling about Dana but Bette really wished for some silence.

     

    She had got used to living a tranquil life in London and she was as happy as she could ever been without coming home every night to a home that was populated by Tina.

     

     

     

    Bette got a camomile tea and stood around for a while with Shane and Alice chatting about Dana but crowds made her uneasy these days.

     

    “I’m going for a sit down out the back “

    “Do you want any company ? ” Alice asked – she had seen the weariness in her old friend and was concerned that it was as much seeing Tina again as it was Dana’s funeral.

     

    Only after she had lost Dana had Alice got some idea of the magnitude of the grief that Bette and Tina experienced when their marriage ended.

     

    Bette gave her a smile ” No thanks Al – I just want to be on my own for a while”

    The others nodded and watched as Bette slowly moved away from the chatter and noise to the rear of the building.

    Shane looked at Alice who shrugged.

     

    “How did they get like that ? That they could barely look at each other. Bette and Tina are meant to be together “

     

    “I don’t know Al — we barely see Tina these days and not having Bette around is just sad. “

    “I hated her when I found out – I kept ringing to yell at her . I had no idea she would just leave the way she did “

    “She felt bad enough about what happened without having us yelling at her. She was so lost after Tina’s miscarriage – it’s the only explanation that I have “

    “Do you think that there is any hope for them ?”

    20. I am with AmandaMG, Tina needs to lean in a gently kiss Bette. With that kiss becoming longer and deeper showing not only all around them that they are in love, but to let Henry know that it is over between him and Tina. No words need to be spoken just actions. Yippee, this is getting good.

    37. Ally, AGain thank you for reposting chapter 4. To have it and the following one was a joy to behold and indugle in. I love the gentleness of this story. The path back to where you belong is often fraught with danger and the inteferences of others even if they are often well-intentioned. It looks like Bette and Tina are ready to reaquaint themselves with each other but Henry may have a thing to say ans do about it but I know that Alice, Kit and Shane will be there to nourish and nuture the budding romance and reunion of two lost souls. Wonderful, wonderful writing. Thank you for all of your marvelous melodrama. Your Loyal Fan.

    39. EXCELLENT and so beautifully done. Now it is time for Alice and her compadraes to spring into action–Mission (and you WILL accept it) to get B&T together in a weeks time by having them spend the maxium amount of time together. I am soooo glad that they both risked it all and really opened up to each other. Alice talk to Tina was PRICELESS. Henry it is all over with the exception of doing the dirty dishes, have some pride about yourself and accept it. Look for someone else to be your “Baby’s mama” LOL.
