The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

Bette reluctantly allowed Tina to lead the way, although a necessity, sleep was the last thing she was capable off, however she could see how tired Tina was, she also knew Tina would not be going anywhere without her, she mentally formed a plan to wait until Tina fell asleep, her father kept a lock box in his desk that warranted inspection before she could even think about sleep.

Tina tried desperately to stay awake until she felt the steady rhythm of breathing that would indicate that her troubled love was asleep, her body, her mind failed her, it only took minutes for sleep to win that particular battle.

Bette stared wide eyed into the darkness, waiting, she whispered “Tee” loud enough that if Tina was still awake she would be heard, receiving no response she carefully removed the arm that was wrapped protectively around her and crept her way back to the study.

She looked through her father personal belonging that they had given her at the hospital and found a set of keys, it didn’t take her long to find the key that opened the lock box.

She quickly rummaged through the photographs and folded documents that were inside. She couldn’t recall seeing any of the pictures inside before, some of her as a baby with both her parents, a couple of wedding pictures of her mother and father, she didn’t attempt to stop the flow of tears at the photographic evidence that once if only for a brief period they did look like a happy family.

“Couldn’t sleep” Tina asked as she entered the study rubbing her eyes.

“Sorry, did I wake you” Bette responded wiping her eyes.

Tina swung Bette’s chair so she could sit on her lap, she yawned as she rested her head on Bette’s shoulder “Only because you weren’t curled up in bed with me” She replied, this was going to be a long, long night. “What are you looking at” she asked even though it was obvious with the assortment of photographs scattered over the desk.

Bette wrapped her arms around Tina’s waist before she could reply Tina stretched and picked up a picture that was tucked under another “Who’s that”

    1. Skimmy, I’m not sure I can let go of FLF… I’m sorry. If it makes you feel better, it was never about your legs. Maybe Bette’s? ;) And yay! Helena is back! The way T and Al treat just makes me laugh too freaking much. I’m glad it came out that they both know the risks of the surgery. And as the big geek that I am, I have to say that yeah, Tina wouldn’t forget her love for Bette. Love appears to be located in a different area of the brain than memory :) Sorry for geeking out on you comments, Skimmy!

    2. Skimmy, I have to confess; when I got to the “Promise” word I was a little lost, I had to go back & found I have missed several chapters. I have spent my night reading your story. First let me say sorry about your great loss over the summer. Also hope your sons arm is on the mend. As far as your guys having a normal mom, forget about it, I have 4 kids and none of them have a normal mom, don’t worry about that it helps them build character. I have laughed so hard tonight reading chapter after chapter, you are effing hilarious. That is until I got to this one. Holy sheets woman wasn’t growing up with Melvin enough? What a rat bastard, I think if I were Tina I would go to the grave and piss all over it. Oh the part about the cake was killing me. Can’t wait for more. Thank you, Md aka Oma Oh ya, and if you would have locked the card door, well you know. Thanks again.

    3. You are and always will be ” the Skimminator”! WHat an amazing story this is…thank you so much for taking the time to post here. The menopause cake had me in stitches…LMAOOOO!

    4. Wow Skimmy…that was awesome! That would be quite the thing…finding out your existence wasn’t what you thought it was after all those years. Bette has a lot to sort out and I’m glad Tina is right there with her all the way. This story is getting more intriguing all the time!

    5. Hiya Skimmy! Thanks for the PM hun. I’m ** slowly ** coming along. The chapter rocked. I absolutely loved when Bette said this to Tina: “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt” * Awwww – my heart was melting at that. * Thanks for posting an update! {{ hugs }} ttys.

    6. Oh man, what a mess. Melvin sure was a secretive bastard, wasn’t he? Bette’s really his granddaughter? At least it would explain why he had the mentality of a crusty old man. I hope Bette can find Catherine. Tina’s been a rock, in the past as well as now. No hurdle too big for these guys. I know they’ll be fine. Awesome, skimmer. Thanks :)

    7. What a heck of a chapter. Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. Melvin, the lying old bastard and I can’t blame Tina at all, I, too, would choke the life out of him. This is really terrible for Bette and thank goodness she has Tina and her love to see her thru. This news is just heartbreaking, Melvin should have been ashamed of himself. He died with a very guilty conscience and now he and the devil can make chili powder and matches together. One bright spot in this chapter is when Tina told Bette that, “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt.” How beautiful is that and we all wish for someone to love us like that. That is awesome. Thanks for posting. PPVS
