The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

Document after revealing document was discovered and laid in chronological order, the lock box was as empty as Bette and Tina was full of incredulousness , as the truth unfolded before their eyes.

Bette was first to break the uneasy silence “Tee, please tell me this is all just a nightmare, that I am going to wake up in my bed, in my home and none of this is real” she begged desperately.

Tina’s heart broke, Melvin should think himself lucky that he had already departed to pastures new because Tina would gladly strangle the life out of him for keeping this from Bette. She wanted nothing more than to pinch Bette so she could wake her from her nightmare journey of discovery.

She took a final glance at what laid in front of them.

1952 Melvin Porter & Elizabeth Jones married

1954 Catherine Porter Born to Melvin & Elizabeth Porter

1969 Elizabeth Ann Porter Born Mother Catherine Porter Father Unknown

1970 Elizabeth Ann Porter adopted by Melvin Porter & Elizabeth Porter

    1970 Elizabeth Porter Deceased

1971 Melvin Porter & Maxine Turner married

Six documents that answered all but one thing, where was Catherine Porter? That was something that wouldn’t be answered any time soon and right now it wasn’t important, what was important was getting Bette through the next few days, getting her home, somehow helping her believe that those six documents that represented a past was not as important as her present, her future.

Tina took a deep breath and turned to Bette expecting to see the beginning of a meltdown, instead she saw nothing, nothing in Bette’s expression, nothing in her eyes. Everything that represented who she was seemed to have been drained.

“Bette, listen to me, the people that love you, love you because you are the sweetest, kindest, loyal to a fault, women they know, all this shit is their baggage not yours Bette, I don’t care if you were found under a cabbage patch or raised by wolves, all I care about is that you are here and how you came to be is completely irrelevant”

    “Is it”

“Babe, we can’t choose our family but we can and do choose the people that we want to spend the rest of our lives with, and I chose you not because of where you came from but because of who you are, the person you are” Tina placed her hands on Bette face “Babe I love you, and as sure as night follows day I will always love you”

Bette grabbed the back of Tina’s neck and pulled her towards her, the kiss that followed was less about her desire for Tina and more about her desire to feel something other than what she was feeling now. Tina understood this and responded as best she could despite the fact Bette was more forceful, more demanding than was normal for her, it wasn’t until Bette moved her way down Tina’s neck what would before today have been gentle teasing nibbles could only be described as bites and actually quite painful that Tina winced and pulled back a little.

Bette failed to notice Tina’s pain and roughly pulled at the obstructing garment that stood between her and what she wanted, frustratedly she tore at Tina’s pj top, and hungrily clamped her mouth around the exposed nipple. She bit harder than she intended.

“Ouch” Tina cried in the hope that Bette’s teeth would release their grip. Which thankfully she did.

The realization she had caused Tina any kind of pain, somehow released her own, her head fell between Tina’s breasts and she sobbed harder than she had ever before.

    1. Skimmy, I’m not sure I can let go of FLF… I’m sorry. If it makes you feel better, it was never about your legs. Maybe Bette’s? ;) And yay! Helena is back! The way T and Al treat just makes me laugh too freaking much. I’m glad it came out that they both know the risks of the surgery. And as the big geek that I am, I have to say that yeah, Tina wouldn’t forget her love for Bette. Love appears to be located in a different area of the brain than memory :) Sorry for geeking out on you comments, Skimmy!

    2. Skimmy, I have to confess; when I got to the “Promise” word I was a little lost, I had to go back & found I have missed several chapters. I have spent my night reading your story. First let me say sorry about your great loss over the summer. Also hope your sons arm is on the mend. As far as your guys having a normal mom, forget about it, I have 4 kids and none of them have a normal mom, don’t worry about that it helps them build character. I have laughed so hard tonight reading chapter after chapter, you are effing hilarious. That is until I got to this one. Holy sheets woman wasn’t growing up with Melvin enough? What a rat bastard, I think if I were Tina I would go to the grave and piss all over it. Oh the part about the cake was killing me. Can’t wait for more. Thank you, Md aka Oma Oh ya, and if you would have locked the card door, well you know. Thanks again.

    3. You are and always will be ” the Skimminator”! WHat an amazing story this is…thank you so much for taking the time to post here. The menopause cake had me in stitches…LMAOOOO!

    4. Wow Skimmy…that was awesome! That would be quite the thing…finding out your existence wasn’t what you thought it was after all those years. Bette has a lot to sort out and I’m glad Tina is right there with her all the way. This story is getting more intriguing all the time!

    5. Hiya Skimmy! Thanks for the PM hun. I’m ** slowly ** coming along. The chapter rocked. I absolutely loved when Bette said this to Tina: “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt” * Awwww – my heart was melting at that. * Thanks for posting an update! {{ hugs }} ttys.

    6. Oh man, what a mess. Melvin sure was a secretive bastard, wasn’t he? Bette’s really his granddaughter? At least it would explain why he had the mentality of a crusty old man. I hope Bette can find Catherine. Tina’s been a rock, in the past as well as now. No hurdle too big for these guys. I know they’ll be fine. Awesome, skimmer. Thanks :)

    7. What a heck of a chapter. Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. Melvin, the lying old bastard and I can’t blame Tina at all, I, too, would choke the life out of him. This is really terrible for Bette and thank goodness she has Tina and her love to see her thru. This news is just heartbreaking, Melvin should have been ashamed of himself. He died with a very guilty conscience and now he and the devil can make chili powder and matches together. One bright spot in this chapter is when Tina told Bette that, “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt.” How beautiful is that and we all wish for someone to love us like that. That is awesome. Thanks for posting. PPVS
