The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

    LA 2029

“Tina was still laughing when she said “I’ll never forget the look on your face when that cop opened the door”

“Promise” That one word was out there before Bette had a chance to suck it back in

“What” Tina had heard Bette’s request, she was more than surprised at it’s usage

Bette swung her legs of the bed, she remained sitting on the edge and willed a smile on her face which in truth wasn’t fooling anyone least of all Tina.

“You know don’t you” Tina said, it was more of a statement than a question.

    “Do you”

Tina sighed, Bette sighed, the question why didn’t you tell me not needing to be asked by either.

“Come here you silly old fool” Tina demanded softly, Bette complied.

“I’m scared Tee” Bette confessed as she settled back in Tina’s embrace

“You know what, the day to day memories of our lives maybe stored up here” Tina said tapping her temple, but what’s important, what’s really important is stored in here” She continued taking Bette’s hand and placing it over her heart. “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt”

    “Promise”

    “I promise”

They heard Helena’s arrival being announced in the lounge ,Bette tightened her hold around Tina’s waist “5 more minutes”

“Hey Hells, If I knew you were coming I would have baked you one of my infamous menopause cakes” Al greeted Helena

    “Excuse me”

“You know it’s a little dry”

    Helena shook her head

“No jam” Al continued knowing her attempt at a joke was completely wasted on the Brit “Oh forget it, Bette and Tina are in the bedroom, oh I know twice in one day and at their age too, you’d think they could demonstrate some control, what with the little ones here and all”

Helena shook her head once more and completely ignoring Al’s ramblings, which was something she had become very adept at over the years, she stepped around the 3 bodies on the floor of Shane and the twins, their heads buried in the photo album and headed towards the kitchen, her hope that A, Al would have left already and B the album would have found it’s way back to it’s hiding place completely dashed, she needed a drink.

    1. Skimmy, I’m not sure I can let go of FLF… I’m sorry. If it makes you feel better, it was never about your legs. Maybe Bette’s? ;) And yay! Helena is back! The way T and Al treat just makes me laugh too freaking much. I’m glad it came out that they both know the risks of the surgery. And as the big geek that I am, I have to say that yeah, Tina wouldn’t forget her love for Bette. Love appears to be located in a different area of the brain than memory :) Sorry for geeking out on you comments, Skimmy!

    2. Skimmy, I have to confess; when I got to the “Promise” word I was a little lost, I had to go back & found I have missed several chapters. I have spent my night reading your story. First let me say sorry about your great loss over the summer. Also hope your sons arm is on the mend. As far as your guys having a normal mom, forget about it, I have 4 kids and none of them have a normal mom, don’t worry about that it helps them build character. I have laughed so hard tonight reading chapter after chapter, you are effing hilarious. That is until I got to this one. Holy sheets woman wasn’t growing up with Melvin enough? What a rat bastard, I think if I were Tina I would go to the grave and piss all over it. Oh the part about the cake was killing me. Can’t wait for more. Thank you, Md aka Oma Oh ya, and if you would have locked the card door, well you know. Thanks again.

    3. You are and always will be ” the Skimminator”! WHat an amazing story this is…thank you so much for taking the time to post here. The menopause cake had me in stitches…LMAOOOO!

    4. Wow Skimmy…that was awesome! That would be quite the thing…finding out your existence wasn’t what you thought it was after all those years. Bette has a lot to sort out and I’m glad Tina is right there with her all the way. This story is getting more intriguing all the time!

    5. Hiya Skimmy! Thanks for the PM hun. I’m ** slowly ** coming along. The chapter rocked. I absolutely loved when Bette said this to Tina: “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt” * Awwww – my heart was melting at that. * Thanks for posting an update! {{ hugs }} ttys.

    6. Oh man, what a mess. Melvin sure was a secretive bastard, wasn’t he? Bette’s really his granddaughter? At least it would explain why he had the mentality of a crusty old man. I hope Bette can find Catherine. Tina’s been a rock, in the past as well as now. No hurdle too big for these guys. I know they’ll be fine. Awesome, skimmer. Thanks :)

    7. What a heck of a chapter. Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. Melvin, the lying old bastard and I can’t blame Tina at all, I, too, would choke the life out of him. This is really terrible for Bette and thank goodness she has Tina and her love to see her thru. This news is just heartbreaking, Melvin should have been ashamed of himself. He died with a very guilty conscience and now he and the devil can make chili powder and matches together. One bright spot in this chapter is when Tina told Bette that, “My love for you is something my heart could never forget, they could wipe my memories clean, dump me in the far corner of the earth and my heart would lead me back home, of that I have no doubt.” How beautiful is that and we all wish for someone to love us like that. That is awesome. Thanks for posting. PPVS
