Life Happens: The One With Tina’s Scary Story
And it was a journey, Bette reminded herself. She needn’t be so stressed. That balancing act, between home and travel, that work was ongoing. She needn’t mind.
She watched as Tina bustled around, filling a kettle for tea, looking around for food, trying to gather what was needed for breakfast. Tina had been the nurturer for so long. Bette moved forward to take Angelica from her, and to help with tea.
“Morning…” Alice emerged from the cabin, wearing a sleepy grin and blue flannel pajamas. She shivered slightly and went back inside. When she came out again, she had donned a knit sweater and a pair of hiking boots.
Soon Helena, Shane, Jenny, Max and Kit were up and wandering. Kit comically complained about her aching-ass bones. While Tina and Alice unpacked the food, the rest of the group wandered away to walk the site. Helena fed her kids, which took a long time, given that they had too many options to chose from. Max, Shane and Kit immediately walked in the direction of Dana’s waterfall, talking softly amongst themselves. Jenny, of course, being Jenny, went off on her own to write. She said something about birdsong and moose calls to Alice, who patted her in a friendly kinda way.
Later that afternoon, Helena left her kids to play with Alice and Shane. Angelica and Tina were with the others, probably playing near the cabins. She found Bette leaning against a tree, staring into the distance with a dreamy look in her eyes. “What are you doing sweetheart?”
Bette grinned, looking back as Helena walked toward her. “Just thinking back…Remember our first time?”
“Oh dear.” Helena laughed. She stood close to Bette, gazing at her features, at her changing emotions. Then she leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek, once, twice, both times rather chastely. “Are you going to torture me, after the promise I made to Alice? And yes, I do remember our first time. You were beautiful…”
“so were you.” Bette smiled, her lips hovering just before Helena’s. “And kind…you were so good to me, all during that year…that was such a hard night for you, losing Dylan days before, and then the funeral.”

OK, so that move to London bit was out of left field and they might have to see if they can buy werewolf repellent if they go. And if we didn’t get much sex out of that, there were quite a few laughs, hard to say which is better in the long run. Loved Kit perturbed by a normal Jenny, which is of course stunning. Liked Tina’s story, too. But as attractive as a move to London might be, I really think Helena needs to face the music over here before she goes.
okay…so what’s up with the moving to london??? hmmm…can’t wait to see how that goes…anyways, i love the bonding the women had with each other even with Jenny’s crazy ass. I can’t wait for the new chapter! Thanks and PPS!
Loved loved loved tina’s story…see this is the tina i like…simple, no craziness, no fickle-ness…good, granola tina…so to london, it is? I say Helena has to get her life together before she takes a leap across the pond.
I am NOT a Tibetter but a LITTLE part of me wanted to see bette with tina in this chapter =O how crazy is that? I mean I LOVE B and H together but I like Tina in your fic  hehe this chapter was great!!! PPS!
I too love the bonding of these core characters (thanks for nothing, IC), and sympathetic Tina as well. I’m guessing normal Jenny is a temporary aberration.
