Just The Girl – Chapter Fifty Three (a HYD-inspired fic)

    ——-

    A few minutes later..

“Aren’t you gonna watch the show, love?” Tina asked sweetly as she peered into the telescope. Bette was crouching down on the ground, her arms wrapped around her legs, sulking like a child.

“No thank you, I’m already seeing stars.”

    Monday. Redwind Academy. 11:20 PM.

The roving guard on night duty entered the huge, newly constructed open air amphitheater inside Redwind Academy’s compound. Wielding a flashlight in one hand and a set of keys in the other, he did his accustomed walk around the area, on the lookout for things beyond the ordinary and checking for the presence of unauthorized people sneaking around. Preparations for tomorrow’s ceremony had finished a few hours ago, and the professionals who were hired to arrange the amphitheater had cleaned up, cleared their tools and vacated the lot. So far so good, he told himself as he reached the main gate. With a last ocular sweep through the eerily quiet place, he made his way out and made a beeline for his cart that was parked in the near distance. His favorite late night talk show would be starting soon, and if he was fast enough, he’d be able to be back at the guardhouse in time to catch Leno’s opening monologue.

As soon as the huge double doors clicked shut and he had sped away, signs of life sprung up from inside the supposedly empty amphitheater.

From out of the shadows, four figures emerged. They were clad from head to toe in black, donning ski masks and gloves that blended well with their leather catsuits – looking every bit like heroines from a cheesy, B-rated spy flick. They were women on a mission, dressed to kill and armed with a backpack filled with tools and a pair of ridiculously expensive Manolo Blahnik boots.

After a customary bumping of fists for good luck, they dispersed and branched out into different directions. With stealthy and agile movements, they crawled, rolled, slid, climbed and flipped their way through narrow paths and frustrating obstacles in the form of chairs and flower arrangements. They knew what they were doing, they had the plan imprinted into their brains and was executing it as flawlessly as possible. Apart from the sound of crickets and the gentle swaying of branches, nothing was heard from in and around the open space. The four was successful in keeping their noise levels at a minimum as they performed the first of their assigned duties.

    1. See… My heart dropped at page 30. I knew something sad was on its way. I really love how you write. So good! Soooo good! But please fix this. It’s too good to end it like how I think it is. Unless you’re doing it like the show which has a chapter 2.

    2. Oh, no! I feared this might happen, but I trust you to make everything turn out right for our girls. BTW since you left it like that, you can’t keep us waiting long!

    3. i can’t believe tina wants to go to different schools… and could under stand if it was money… but thats not an issue… i some times don’t under stand her… she has to realize bette will not go to yale… ok i trust you to make things right… MERRY CHRISTMAS… to you and your family… PPS

    4. i absolutely love, love love this story and i get frustrated at the length of time between posts but when you post you soooooo make it for it!! The way you write these two (especially Bette) is just brilliant even though its quite obvious Bette is whipped by Tina i’m not sure it’s all gonna go Tinas way this time…can they really be parted long term?!! pps!

    5. Man, I was having withdrawls & it wasn’t pretty…I am so glad that you are back. It was a long chapter & was way wirth the read. very funny & sexy.. I loved F4’S pranks-they were classic. Great job!!!!!

    6. What a power Tina’sgotover Bette? A bit sad at the end. Hope Tina will go with Bette. These two can not be apart. Thank you for the long chapter, you are rock. PPS

    7. Noooo long disyance never works. Suck it up Tina and go to Yale or just let Bette go to USC, it really doesn’t matter where you go to school, it’s how you run with the big boys! PPS

    8. ur gonna split them up. tina is right bette needs to grow and so does she.. distance will only make the heart grow fonder! please don’t let tina hook up with guys:)PPS

    9. Damn, I so saw that coming but still my heart broke a liitle. I am glad Tina is going to give Bette what she needs. I just hope they make it through college still together. I love this Story. Thank you

    10. Wow, a 33-page update. You’re an awesome writer, Alchemy. The lovebirds’ “unique” reviewing method in the last chapter is awfully funny! :> I’m not familiar with HYD but I have a bad feeling on how this story is gonna end. So Alchemy, if I go down on my knees and beg, would you consider deviating from the probable gloomy ending of that story and give us a happy ending instead? I don’t know how their relationship will survive such distance and painful parting. There’s enough gloom in the real world right now what with the global recession and all the other shit that when I retreat into the fictional world of these young, horny lovebirds, I just want to see them happy, together and in love. Please, please fix this ending, Alchemy. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this story and writing these lovely, kilometric updates! And Merry Chrismas to you and your loved ones!!! :>
