“Do you think we could set a date for our wedding sometime soon…” Bette asked when they got home after having dinner at a small French restaurant in the neighborhood.
“Sure…” Tina said and went into the bedroom to change.
Bette followed behind Tina. She sat down on the bed watching Tina undress.
“Do you have any thoughts on the subject?” Bette asked after Tina had stripped down to her underwear.
“I do…” Tina said and went to the bathroom.
“Do I need to brace myself for this…?”
“Have you seen my robe?” Tina asked from the bathroom.
“Your robe is on the chair… Tina, do you think you could concentrate on this for a minute?” Bette said trying not to get annoyed.
Tina could hear the burgeoning frustration in Bette’s voice. She took her robe from the chair and crouched down in front of Bette.
“Baby, I soooo need a shower… why don’t you join me and then we’ll set a wedding date afterwards…?” Tina suggested.
“Are you trying to divert me from the subject…. cause if you are, I might as well tell you now, it’s not going to work…” Bette said, looking directly into Tina’s eyes.
“I’m not trying to do anything other than taking a shower… please, Bette… come with me…”
“Okay… but just a shower, right?” Bette said and got up.
“Just a shower… I promise,” Tina laughed, “geez, Bette, you sound like it’s a punishment. We just bought the rings… can’t you take a moment to enjoy that before you move on to the next point on your list?”
“… I don’t have a list….” Bette moped.
“No?” Tina asked, looking at Bette with a quizzical look on her face.
“Okay, maybe I do have a list somewhere… but that doesn’t mean it’s not important…”
“I know… Look, I’m going to take a shower… join me if you like, ok?” Tina got up and went into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
They were sitting on the balcony in the quiet evening, sharing a glass of white wine. They were both dressed in their robes, their hair still damp from the shower. Tina glanced at Bette, sensing how uneasy she felt. She held out her hand to Bette who seemed too deep in thought to notice.
“Baby… what’s on your mind…?” Tina whispered, not wanting to break the silence of the night.
Bette took a fleeting look at Tina and saw the hand she held out. Without really looking at Tina she took her hand.
“It’s been a long day, T….”
“I know… but this is nice, right?” Tina tried.
“…Yeah… it’s a nice night…”

Thanks Anker…I have this shyt awful housework to do!!!! I have let it accumulate…like clothes over four rooms etc. TIME TO CLEAN UP!!!…but I saw your story and I’m such a sucker for your B & T that I just had to read…awesome as always, so much detail, and the birthday cliffie (lol)…in an anticipation of your next post I will now go off to do albeit reluctantly the housework, hoping that when I’m finished you MAY have posted the 2nd half of the birthday girl’s present….gotta love James…as for alphabette…ouch!!! she’s a teaser!!!

I love your Bette and Tina. They have worked out a lot of their problems and seem to continue to talk through them. Tina is sneaky and fun. First she has Bette meet her at work to shut up her co-workers and now this surprise to Bette’s office. Looking forward to more B&T soon.

Hey anker, this was a very nice Saturday surprise post. I love how you write B&T together and I am sure in the next chapter things are going to heat up at the office. LOL!! Hey, Anker! As always, your post brightened up the day! Love it when Alphabette comes out to play…love it even more when Tina tweaks her carefully thought out plans. What do you think? Can Bette totally embrace the journey off the well thought out path or does she stress (even a little) that Tina has changed -even in a good way- the ideas she mapped out as Tina’s perfect birthday? Anker… do you *really* want to hear me sing? I don’t think you know what you’re letting yourself in for… Do you have enough medical insurance to repair the damage to your ears? Are you ready to go through extensive therapy to recover from the mental anguish of my off-key warbling? Heed my warnings: it won’t be pretty. I don’t know if the cuteness from the puppies and kittens would be enough to counteract the damage of me mangling show tunes… And the nightmares, you ready for those too? Okay, I’m maybe not that bad. Wait, that’s a blatant lie: I am. Besides, I live at sea level… even going up a slight hill makes my ears pop, so if I get up towards the mountains to imitate the von Trapps, my head would likely explode. So, you’re likely safe from me and my singing… or are you? Dare to mention that word again, and you may find out… ;) Right, on to the chapter: T showing off Bette at the Center was too cute, yet, still hot. Heck, if I were Tina, I’d take out full-page ads in newspapers and hire billboards to show Bette off, complete with a hotline number for the jealous onlookers: 1-800-U-ENVY-ME. I can’t wait to see what T has in store for Bette… she has a whole 70 minutes (I’m allowing 5 minutes to correct things in case either– or hopefully both of them– are en déshabillé… yes, that’s a hint, anker) to pay Bette back for leaving her in that state, on her birthday, no less! anker, awesome as usual. Tina wanting to show Bette off (while totally understandable!) WAS SO CUTE. Bette wouldn’t have made it out the door that morning… grrrrr… even WITH surprises later. :) James is about the best assitant ever… I need to get one of those… LOL
