“Hi baby…”
“Hey, T… were you in a meeting?”
“No…”
“Oh, it just took forever for you to come to the phone…”
“I was daydreaming I guess….” Tina smiled.
“Mmmm, about anyone I know…?” Bette sniggered.
“… well, the image of a certain gorgeous brunette seems to pop up all the time…”
“Really? I’m more into blondes myself…” Bette said in a soft voice.
“Isn’t that just my luck…” Tina whispered. She noticed that everyone around her was listening in on their conversation.
“So I just wanted to let you know that I confirmed our appointment with Janice about the rings… she’s got a new space down on Melrose… the address is,” Bette started.
“Can’t you pick me up instead?” Tina cut Bette off.
“Why? Is something wrong with your car?”
“No… the car is fine…”
“Why then…?” Bette asked with confusion.
“You haven’t been to The Center for ages… I just…”
“I know, but it’s kind of out of the way for me… “
“I know it is… I’m just being silly… Give me the address.”
“Do you want me to meet someone from your work? Is that why?” Bette asked, ignoring Tina’s attempt to move the conversation along.
“No, not really…”
“T! Just tell me why you want me to stop by… please.”
“It’s so stupid… I just… you know that day when Charlie came by… someone just assumed he was my boyfriend… and I told her that I am with someone far more amazing… and..” Tina stammered.
“… awww, T…. I think I can take a detour for this… would five o’clock be okay with you?” Bette chuckled.
“… are you sure?”
“Of course…”
“Five o’clock will be just fine. Thanks, babe…”
“… my pleasure… see you later, T.”
At precisely five o’clock Bette sauntered in to The Center For Social Services. As always she was dressed in a killer suit that just highlighted all her best features. Tina saw Bette first. Instead of going to her she stood back and watched her girlfriend, biting her lip not to break into an ecstatic smile. Everyone in the office looked up with eyes following Bette across the room. Alisha who seemed to be all over the place at all times, came up to Bette.
“Can I help you with something?” she asked Bette.
“Yes… I’m looking for my girlfriend, Tina Kennard… I can’t seem to find her anywhere…” Bette smiled at the young woman.
“Oh wow… so you are Tina’s… wow…” Alisha stuttered.
“I am Tina’s, yes… perhaps you could direct me to where she might be?” Bette said with a laugh.
“Bette…” Tina said as she came up behind Bette.
“There you are… Hi, T…” Bette said, turning around to face Tina.
“Hey babe….” Tina smiled and stepped into Bette’s embrace.

Thanks Anker…I have this shyt awful housework to do!!!! I have let it accumulate…like clothes over four rooms etc. TIME TO CLEAN UP!!!…but I saw your story and I’m such a sucker for your B & T that I just had to read…awesome as always, so much detail, and the birthday cliffie (lol)…in an anticipation of your next post I will now go off to do albeit reluctantly the housework, hoping that when I’m finished you MAY have posted the 2nd half of the birthday girl’s present….gotta love James…as for alphabette…ouch!!! she’s a teaser!!!

I love your Bette and Tina. They have worked out a lot of their problems and seem to continue to talk through them. Tina is sneaky and fun. First she has Bette meet her at work to shut up her co-workers and now this surprise to Bette’s office. Looking forward to more B&T soon.

Hey anker, this was a very nice Saturday surprise post. I love how you write B&T together and I am sure in the next chapter things are going to heat up at the office. LOL!! Hey, Anker! As always, your post brightened up the day! Love it when Alphabette comes out to play…love it even more when Tina tweaks her carefully thought out plans. What do you think? Can Bette totally embrace the journey off the well thought out path or does she stress (even a little) that Tina has changed -even in a good way- the ideas she mapped out as Tina’s perfect birthday? Anker… do you *really* want to hear me sing? I don’t think you know what you’re letting yourself in for… Do you have enough medical insurance to repair the damage to your ears? Are you ready to go through extensive therapy to recover from the mental anguish of my off-key warbling? Heed my warnings: it won’t be pretty. I don’t know if the cuteness from the puppies and kittens would be enough to counteract the damage of me mangling show tunes… And the nightmares, you ready for those too? Okay, I’m maybe not that bad. Wait, that’s a blatant lie: I am. Besides, I live at sea level… even going up a slight hill makes my ears pop, so if I get up towards the mountains to imitate the von Trapps, my head would likely explode. So, you’re likely safe from me and my singing… or are you? Dare to mention that word again, and you may find out… ;) Right, on to the chapter: T showing off Bette at the Center was too cute, yet, still hot. Heck, if I were Tina, I’d take out full-page ads in newspapers and hire billboards to show Bette off, complete with a hotline number for the jealous onlookers: 1-800-U-ENVY-ME. I can’t wait to see what T has in store for Bette… she has a whole 70 minutes (I’m allowing 5 minutes to correct things in case either– or hopefully both of them– are en déshabillé… yes, that’s a hint, anker) to pay Bette back for leaving her in that state, on her birthday, no less! anker, awesome as usual. Tina wanting to show Bette off (while totally understandable!) WAS SO CUTE. Bette wouldn’t have made it out the door that morning… grrrrr… even WITH surprises later. :) James is about the best assitant ever… I need to get one of those… LOL
