Tina laughed “You call her that as well?”
Bette nodded “There is quality about her – she looks so frail but is obviously so tough but at the same time she is very worldly “
They paused as their meals arrived – Bette put the chopsticks to one side and took a fork. Tina opened her chopsticks
“You can’t eat with chopsticks?”
“I can but only if I am not hungry and I am “
Bette took a mouthful “Oh this is delicious “she muttered
Tina scooped some of her food into her mouth and moaned “I love Chinese “
“So – Shane?”
The conversation continued.
“.She’d been through the juvenile system all her life – petty theft and vandalism. At the time Ollie was doing some probation work as well as his usual duties – she had always wanted to set up as a gardener – no idea why she was attracted to gardening – she just was. He liked her and took a chance on her – we took her under our wing a bit. I helped her with her reading and writing skills which were terrible as she’s always skipped school. We helped her apply for a grant to start the business – getting her tools and stuff. I got her the first job she had – clearing some land for a herb garden and a pond at the school I worked at. She was a hit with the kids and the parents and the teachers and her firm took off. She still just turns up and does our garden for free – the fights I have had with her about accepting money but she won’t “
Bette smiled – that just was an example of what a special person Tina was – to welcome a waif like Shane into her home. Bette knew she had fallen a little deeper for this woman.
“She never tried to convert you back to the sisterhood? “ Bette teased
“No – but since Ol and I split up she never stops pointing out gay women in cafes and shops and asking me if I fancy that? “
“And you never do?”
“No – there is only one woman I fancy at the moment “

Well, as long as they got a secluded table. They can still go to a French restaurant eventually. And I think Bette & Tina ought to go camping alone a time or two before taking the kids along. Not much privacy in a Winnebago. Even less in a tent-reminds me of the time I was a kid camping with my parents and the young couple retired to their tent for the night bringing their lantern with them. The eventually realized that they were putting on a silhouette striptease for the campground before they doused the light.
i wish my first dates were like this…just them talking makes it hot, imagine when they will get together for NC-17 version

GOD, Ally! You should’ve rated that as a mental R or NC-17. That has to be one of the hottest first dates I’ve ever read. Hi Ally, More wonderful writing as Bette and Tina embark on relationship together. There was gentle teasing, lustful looks, genuine connection and the beginnings of love. I adored the sharing of their dessert. This was such an intimate act and demonstrated the potential of there is to come.
