Bette presented her hand for Tina to examine
“That’s tiny “she scoffed
“It hurt “
“Mo is a pussycat “
“No – a pussycat is one of those smaller creatures with whiskers and fluffy tails who go miaow a lot – and are known as Maggie and Lisa in our house– your mutt is more an ancestor of a wolf “
Bette was trying to sound severe and doing a bad job
“In the words of your wise son who adores me – you are a wuss Bette Porter “
Bette laughed – she was really enjoying herself with the blonde. They resumed eating while chatting about books and writing.
“Would you like sweet ladies?” the waiter asked
Bette nodded “A huge piece of chocolate cake “
“And two spoons “Tina said
Tina reached out and linked her fingers into Bette’s.
“I guess I should officially ask you to be my girlfriend “
“You should – well one of us should “
“Can I say that you are my girlfriend? “
“Only if I can say that you are mine “
For a brief moment Tina wanted to kiss Bette but held herself back. She wanted to be alone with the brunette when they kissed for the first time because she felt that she would not want to leave it at one solitary peak on the cheek.
“Are you still hungry? “Bette asked after a few minutes of them devouring the chocolate cake
“Why?”
“Because you look like you could eat me “
Tina moved closer to Bette “I could “she deliberately dropped her voice a few levels “and I am not sure if once I start I will be able to control myself “
“And to think I had you down as a respectable mother of three “
“I am – not sure about the respectable bit though. I feel let out of chains “
Bette laughed
“Dirty mind – I mean that being alone with a woman- with you – its suddenly makes me see what I have missed out on for so long – being straight is so out of step with who I was at college “

Well, as long as they got a secluded table. They can still go to a French restaurant eventually. And I think Bette & Tina ought to go camping alone a time or two before taking the kids along. Not much privacy in a Winnebago. Even less in a tent-reminds me of the time I was a kid camping with my parents and the young couple retired to their tent for the night bringing their lantern with them. The eventually realized that they were putting on a silhouette striptease for the campground before they doused the light.
i wish my first dates were like this…just them talking makes it hot, imagine when they will get together for NC-17 version

GOD, Ally! You should’ve rated that as a mental R or NC-17. That has to be one of the hottest first dates I’ve ever read. Hi Ally, More wonderful writing as Bette and Tina embark on relationship together. There was gentle teasing, lustful looks, genuine connection and the beginnings of love. I adored the sharing of their dessert. This was such an intimate act and demonstrated the potential of there is to come.
