They looked at each other for a few more minutes until Tina broke the moment and returned to her meal.
“Do you have any plans for tomorrow? “ Bette asked
“Writing – go for a run – what about you?”
“Would you like to come for dinner with us – when the monsters have gone to sleep we can watch a movie and sink some wine?”
Tina smiled “Its going to be hard at times for us to be alone isn’t it?”
“Yes – but I do want to try to date you as normally as possible “
“Does that equal a date?”
Bette shrugged “Maybe – the being alone with you afterwards is a date “
“What movie shall we watch – how about that one with the welder who wants to be a dancer?”
She had been told by Helena that the quickest way to make Bette blush was to make reference to her break through script. She had told Tina about two other scripts that Bette had written that she was even more embarrassed by – Tina was saving that snippet of information.
True to Helena’s prediction Bette blushed
“How about not “she said
Tina chuckled and Bette smiled “ You are bad Tina – very “
“I’m lovely – my daughters tell me that – in fact I think Josh is in love with me “
“I know he is “Bette sipped at her wine
“Madison thinks you are much nicer looking than I am “
“I would have to disagree with her there “Bette replied “I think you are beautiful “
Tina looked at Bette who was smiling at her. The flirting was hotting up and Tina could feel herself getting more of a desire for it to get even hotter.

Well, as long as they got a secluded table. They can still go to a French restaurant eventually. And I think Bette & Tina ought to go camping alone a time or two before taking the kids along. Not much privacy in a Winnebago. Even less in a tent-reminds me of the time I was a kid camping with my parents and the young couple retired to their tent for the night bringing their lantern with them. The eventually realized that they were putting on a silhouette striptease for the campground before they doused the light.

GOD, Ally! You should’ve rated that as a mental R or NC-17. That has to be one of the hottest first dates I’ve ever read. Hi Ally, More wonderful writing as Bette and Tina embark on relationship together. There was gentle teasing, lustful looks, genuine connection and the beginnings of love.
