A helping hand and a push in the right direction–Ch. 19

They walked into the house hand in hand, which earned them a smile from Eli.

"Mom is Bette staying for dinner?"

Tina turned to Bette. "I’m not sure are you babe?"

Bette smiled at the fact that Tina was starting to call her babe in front of Eli. "I’d love to stay for dinner."

"Then it’s settled we’ll hangout for a little bit before I start on dinner."

    Bette smiled. "That sounds perfect."

Tina and Eli vetoed Bette’s suggestion of playing Scrabble. Then Bette and Eli vetoed Tina movie suggestion. So Bette and Tina agreed to let Eli pick what they would be doing. They soon regretted that decision when Eli ran to his bag and pulled out the 2002 FIFA World Cup Finals dvd the his Uncle Ollie bought him. So Bette got her first taste of soccer, and Tina slipped out during halftime so she could start cooking. Tina would look in on them occasionally and at some point Bette put her arm around Eli’s shoulder again. They looked so comfortable with each other. They sat down and ate with each other mixed with some light conversation. And although both women were thinking that it already felt like they were a family, neither woman was ready to voice it for fear that they’d jinx it. Bette was once again reluctant to leave, she was becoming more aware of the fact that her day doesn’t feel right until she’s had some contact with Tina and Eli. She hoped that someday soon she won’t have to leave them, but she was confident that it was going to happen soon.

Sunday the Piezecki-Fairbanks family came to stay at the beach house for a few days. Tina welcomed the company she had really missed spending time with her friends and was enjoying her time with Jack. Who reminded Tina so much of Alice at times and Dana the next. They had a fun filled day of lounging by the pool, and barbecued for lunch. Tina missed laying out in the sun and catching up with her friends. She was happy with her life in New York but Tina really missed the beach. Ever since her move from North Carolina Tina had considered herself a California girl, but the move to New York required her to adapt to another pace. Laying out in the sun Tina smiled as she recalled her day with Bette and Eli. She was really missing Bette right about now. They seemed to be effortlessly falling back into each others lives. The only snag was that this wasn’t a true representation of Tina’s life. Tina loved her job, she loved the satisfaction she got from doing her job so well. She had been able to balance her personal life with her professional life, and without a doubt Eli was her first priority…but how would they deal with living on opposite ends of the country. This question was on Tina’s mind but she decided not to think too much about it, she was going to enjoy her time with Bette and they would figure everything out together.

    1. The whole stories is beautiful. Eli is so sweet, and Bette and Tina are so in love and just needsome time and Bette will make sure that they have that. I just wonder when Bette will ask about Eli’s name. I believe that Bette loves Eli as much as Tina does. thanks so much for posting thanks

    2. Great chapter, Tori. Do so love this story. So happy that you show the love between them and with Eli as well. They are taking things slowly soas to cement their relationship for the future with no problems. I want Bette to ask Tina about Eli’s name and surely she did that on purpose, at least I hope. Bette showing her jealousy is kinda sweet and endearing. No one had better mess with her Tina. Great.

    3. Like everyone said..awesome chapter and soo loving the story!!. Its so cool to see Sharmen there happy with a kid :) Bette jealous was so cute lol. I cant wait to next chapter :D

    4. This is a delightful story. I love it b/c it shows the possibilities if two people in love are willing to bridge the hurt and forgive the unforgivable then they can prevail. It also shows how energy and life consuming hatred can be. Carpe diem!

    5. I am so addicted to your story, I pulled it up this morning b4 work and now I’m playing hookey just so I could read it; good thing work is only 5 minutes away! I live on campus..hanging out for the date and if B’s gonna have more galleries then she can just have one in NY to give her reason to be with Tina and Eli…and James can run the LA one…or Tina can relocate her job somehow to LA…everythings fixable, when you’re that much in love. Thanks for the extra long post. I will hang at out for the next one.

    6. WE just can’t say it enough. This story is fantastic. Its romantic, funny, happy, and uplifting. Please, please keep it flowing this way. NO HEAVY DRAMA>

    7. I can’t wait for Bette and Tina to go on their date either. Good thing Bette was able to keep Monica away from Tina and Eli. It looks as if both Bette and Tina are a little jealous of the other women in their former life partner’s life. Thank you for posting.

    8. I love this story, I love this story, I love this story, I love this story, I love this story……….OK I think you got it now LOL!!! So sweet, romantic, cute, amazing, wonderful and so on – I’m really looking forward to the date :o)) I just thought that they would have “the talk” before the date??? Post as soon as possible, this is so addictive!!!! And thanks for the head up about the problems with writing time, but know that I’ll be waiting, your writing is worth it :o))

    9. Great post, as usual! It’s nice that B & T are taking their time. Nine years without processing what happened before is going to take some time, but it’s great that their love is still evident and strong! Hope your computer is up again to help you post soon! Fantastic story!

    10. I love the antics between Alice & Nero. Thank goodness Tina trusts Bette, but I can see there is fire brewing between their legs. LOL! Will the fire be put out soon? Hmm.
