“You’re right. I did alter her life.”
“Everything is going to be different now. What if she like fell in love with you and refused to marry anyone else and she was supposed to have the child that was eventually going to start a line of people that would end up saving the world!” Kyla sighed dramatically and draped herself over the table with her hands resting on her heart.
“Okay drama queen. We should google her,” Ashley decided booting up her shift drive computer. It was brand new technology developed by one of the boys down the hall, the screen was non existent and everything was displayed in a holo that was touch sensitive right in front of her.
“What’s her name?” Kyla asked popping a lolliter into her mouth.
“Um. Um.”
“Yeah, wondering my genius sister is so stupid!” Kyla said with a roll of her dark brown eyes. Ashley brushed her chocolate curls out of her eyes and tapped the holo with her index finger.
“Hey shut up. If it wasn’t for me you’d be in some dumpy levitar trailer right now, nursing one of your eight brats and drinking a stale beer from 2422. Who encouraged you to go to college? Who gave you a job? Who introduced you to Rick, which my mistake, he isn’t good enough for you.”
“If he’s not good enough why did you introduce me to him?” Ashley pondered her question for a moment.
“Well I thought he was good enough but now I realize he’s just substandard. The guy drinks water out of a straw. Who does that? Why don’t you just get back with Aiden, he was a perfect match for you.”
“Because all Aiden cares about is basketball, it’s sickening he even called me his little free throw champion one day. And rick is SO not substandard he’s a perfect gentle-HEY! Stop changing the subject!” Kyla glared beadily at her sister.

I really liked this chapter. The Ashley and Kyla banter is funny. I really want to figure out why Spencer gets stabbed and how Ashley saves her! PMS!

Umm…kind of a late reply but…I really really love how you write out the interaction between Kyla and Ashley…you are probably the best Kyla writer on this site. I’m all for Ashley and Spencer but I love when people delve out into other characters…you are one of two people who do it really well. Just all around great writing here, i’m a little hooked and i’m kinda glad I don’t have to wait for updates!
