    “Oh really? AND where did you stumble on these “retro” shoes? When you were “cleaning” the time machine? Oh that’s right maybe you found them when you were in the PAST! Gah! You’re so stupid for being a genius! What the hell were you thinking?! You could have been killed? Or vaporized or I don’t know something gross!” Kyla had a grip on Ashley’s small shoulders now and the brunette could feel her fingers digging into the bone.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “I had to test it. You know we couldn’t appeal to the council for proper subjects and I knew that you would never agree to let me test it on myself! Kyla, I realize that you’re mad right now but forget about it for one second. It works. THE TIME MACHINE WORKS!” Ashley yelled excitedly bouncing up and down. She shook off Kyla from her shoulders and walked over to the table that she’d thrown her lab coat on and draped it over her body. The Spandex may have accentuated her figure but she was cold. Leaning her weight on her hands and using her arms, she hauled herself up onto the desk. Kyla followed and again pointed a finger right into her face.

               

     

     

     

     

    “Kookookachoo ASH! Did you miss the fact that you could have been killed?! That would have left me to explain what the hell we’ve been doing with the money this entire time. NOT A FAN OF HAVING TO CLEAN UP YOUR MESSES!” Ashley grabbed Kyla’s finger and twisted it bringing a look of extreme agitation to her sister’s face. Kyla immediately squirmed to get out of Ashley’s grip but the brunette held on strong.

               

     

     

     

    “It works Kyla. I went to 2007.”

               

     

     

     

     

    “What’s so special about 2007?” Kyla asked biting her bottom lip and trying to fight her way out of Ashley’s finger torture.

               

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    “Well not really anything. But I went there. And I went to a bookstore and I saw a stop light a real one! Plus I got chased by this scary dog, I couldn’t believe it wasn’t in a preserve or a zoo! And this god awful girl wouldn’t leave me alone! She was really irritating but anyway, I went back in time!” Kyla was losing the battle of remaining angry against Ashley’s extreme enthusiasm. She hadn’t seen her sister this happy since they were kids. In spite herself, she smiled.

    9. Umm…kind of a late reply but…I really really love how you write out the interaction between Kyla and Ashley…you are probably the best Kyla writer on this site. I’m all for Ashley and Spencer but I love when people delve out into other characters…you are one of two people who do it really well. Just all around great writing here, i’m a little hooked and i’m kinda glad I don’t have to wait for updates!
