Ashley and I were sitting next to each other across from the other two but by default. Kyla and Blake got to the table first, they practically ran there and say next to each other, if I didn’t know any better I’d say that they planned it so that me and Ash would sit next to each other. I’d much rather sit across from her so I could look into her chocolate orbs but sitting next to her has proved itself a worthy opponent, she sneakily slid her hand over to mine where it was resting on my lap and began drawing circles on my palm.

“Think about it, you bet everything when you think you’d found love…or a good hand.”

“Please stop saying words” Ashley said back to her

“Bite me, it’s true.”

“No it doesn’t make sense, in the end the house always wins, you’re striving to find the best hand that will beat the house but it won’t happen”

“But that’s the beauty of it, you’re gambling…love is just a huge gamble. Not knowing what will happen is half the rush of it”

“Why would you bet on someone if you’re never going to beat the house. For arguments sake I’ll go along with your theory, I’m in love with someone I think she’s good enough, I think we’ll make it, I bet it all on her only to be beaten by the house also known as reality, which has other plans for us.”

“You’re too negative little sis, you find someone, you go all in, you can’t just fold and hope for another hand cause you’re not going to get that many more.”

“I wish I understood love” Spencer said under her breath

“I wish I understood poker” Kyla said catching Spencer’s words

“All in huh?” Ashley asked Blake who was nodding

“All in” She replied, part of me felt like they were talking about something else, but my thoughts were interrupted by the pizza that was being set down on our table.

When we were finished, I paid but not without an argument from both Blake and Ashley.

We got back to the beach and laid out some more, I started to get kind of hot and decided to go into the water. Blake joined me which I didn’t mind I was always very nervous of the ocean. I guess that’s what you get when you’re brother’s favorite movie was Jaws and your mother would rant and rave about the undertoe that would carry little boys and girls out to sea if they weren’t careful.
