The next morning I rolled over towards the wall out of the way of the sun peeking through the blinds. Everyone knows that you can’t just open your eyes and expect to be ready for the day, you have to at least fall asleep for another 15 minutes or in my case another 3 hours and that’s what I tried to do but failed miserably. I could hear the maintenance guy outside doing yard work by the window. I rolled back over to see if Kyla was up yet, she was facing the wall with one of her pillows over her head, I picked up her cell phone to see what time it was, 9:14… too early for vacation. I attempted to fall back to sleep again and tried to follow what Kyla did but it didn’t work so I was forced to roll out of bed and I made my way downstairs to the kitchen to see if my mother was up and making breakfast. Sure enough she was, I poured myself a cup of orange juice and sat at the bar stool at the island.

“Morning” I said after taking the ever so crucial first gulp of juice in the morning

“Morning how did you sleep?” mother asked

“Fine, what are you making, it smells good” I said, what? I’m a regulation fatty

“Eggs, Bacon and there are bagels, do you want a sandwich?” my mom asked

“Yeah that sounds good, make one for Kyla and I’ll bring it up to her when I’m finished” I
 said

    I flipped through the local paper on the counter top as I waited for my sandwich to be ready, By the time it was ready I had moved onto bigger and better things, Us Weekly, as I flipped through every few pages I’d take a bite of the sandwich.

    Pretty soon I was finished most of the bagel, threw the rest out and brought the other sandwich upstairs to my friend, hopefully she was up by now or else I would have to jump on her to get her up. I opened the door and Kyla was still facing the wall, I felt bad waking her up she was probably dreaming about Aiden or something, I decided to jump in the shower and I suppose I could wake her up after. When I got out of the shower about 15 minutes later Kyla was sitting up in bed and already half way done with the sandwich.
