Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 7: Dinner at Spencer’s)
Spencer looked at her hands, "Oh, uh–"
"She’s going into medicine, like me." Paula cut in, abruptly. "Right, Spence?"
"Uh…" Spencer stuttered, "Sure…I mean, yeah."
Ashley raised a quizzical eyebrow, as she looked at Spencer. Her girlfriend shot her a somewhat sad expression, before turning back to her plate.
"Dinner’s really great, Dad." Clay said to break the obvious tension.
"Ooh, I agree," Ashley chirped. "You’re an amazing cook."
"Hey, Dad, maybe you can teach Ash a few things. She really sucks in the kitchen." Spencer chuckled recalling the brunette’s egg disaster.
"Well, I’d love to." Arthur smiled.

It was getting later into the night, and dinner had been over for quite some time. Clay was out with Chelsea for a second time that day, and Glen was shut up in his room with his video games. Spencer and Ashley were in Spencer’s room looking for things to do.
“Spence, you seriously need to spice of your wardrobe,” Ashley stated while fingering through some of the clothes hanging in the blonde’s closet.
“Ash, would you come out of the closet, please?”
“Oh, I already have,” Ashley joked. “It’s your turn.” she smirked while pointing at the blonde.
Spencer narrowed her eyes, “Oh, ha-ha, you’re hilarious.” she said with an un-amused tone.
“I know,” the brunette grinned widely. She then felt her back pocket start to vibrate, as a ringing filled the room. She pulled the phone from her pocket and flipped it open without checking the ID, “It’s Ash…What?…Okay, Aiden stop yelling!”
Ashley bit her bottom lip to suppress a laugh as she walked over to the curious blonde setting her cell to speaker.
“GET THIS CAT OUT OF MY HOUSE!” a voice roared on the other line.
“What did you do to it, Aid?” Spencer asked, calmly.
“NOTHING! THIS THING IS THE DEVIL! HEY! DON’T JUMP ON THAT! SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!”
Both Spencer and Ashley fought to suppress giggles as they listened to Aiden struggle on the other line.
“Dude, if you yell it’ll only make it worse.” Ashley stated, “Just chill, and be nice to it. It’ll return the favor.”
“I tried! DUDE! NOT MY TROPHIES!” They heard a series of crashes coming from the speaker on the phone and Spencer lost it and snorted in laughter, as Ashley was holding her sides, shaking with giggles.
