“That was too close,” Ashley said as she stood and walked to Spencer, offering a hand.

“Yeah.” Spencer agreed as she took the offered hand and stood. “I wish you didn’t have to sleep downstairs.” she frowned.

“Me neither,” Ashley said with a weak smile, “but it’s okay. I’ll see you in the morning.” She pecked Spencer quickly on the cheek, said goodnight, and exited the room.

“Or sooner than you think.” Spencer smirked as she heard the brunette descend down the stairs.

Ashley sighed as she looked at the digital clock on the TV. She stared at it as it changed from 12:59 to 1:00. She let out a sigh and rolled over, closing her eyes.

Spencer was sitting up in her bed, staring at her ceiling. She hated that Ashley was right downstairs but so far away. She mentally cursed her mother for being so small minded. She’d made Ashley sleep on the couch ever since the first time she stayed over.

The blonde looked over at the clock on her bedside table. 1:07am. A crooked smile played across her lips and she stood from her bed, walking out of her bedroom.

She sneaked down the stairs where she saw Ashley facing away from her on their pull out sofa. She walked over, and lied down behind Ashley, wrapping her arms around the brunette’s waist. She placed a light kiss on the back of Ashley’s neck.

“Mmm?” the brunette groaned as she turned around in Spencer’s arms meeting her gaze.

“Hey,” the blonde said softly.

Ashley smiled as she brushed the hair out of Spencer’s face, “Hey.”

“So, uh, where were we, earlier?” Spencer asked, smoothly.

The brunette just smirked as she leaned in capturing the blonde’s lips. Spencer moved her hand to the back of Ashley’s neck pulling her closer, as the kiss heated. Spencer ran her tongue along the brunette’s lower lip and Ashley froze.

Sure, in the week they’d been together, they’d made out. If they ever found some time alone where no one could find them, they’d make due. But no matter how heated it got, neither of them initiated any tongue action.

Ashley was quick to please, however, parting her lips so that Spencer could slip her tongue inside. The brunette let her explore, and a moan escaped from the back of her throat.

It was coming more aware to them that they needed to breath, so they slowly pulled away. But not completely. Their faces were still inches apart as they shared hot breaths.

Ashley’s eyes were still closed, “Wow.” she stated simply.

“What?” Spencer asked, somewhat nervously.

“You know what you’re doing.” the brunette said with a small chuckle.

“Yeah, well you’re not bad, yourself.” Spencer retorted.

Ashley placed a quick peck on Spencer’s lips before distancing herself a little more. “I have a question.”

“Oh? What?” the blonde asked curiously.

“What exactly do you want to do with your life?”

Spencer tilted her head slightly, and Ashley melted. Every time the blonde tilted her head, Ashley’s stomach fluttered, and she thought it was the cutest thing. “You heard my mom, Ash. I’m going into medicine.”

“But you don’t want to.” Ashley stated. “Spence, I saw the way your face dropped when she said that. You obviously have something else in mind.”

“Okay, truthfully, I have no interest in being like my mother,” the blonde started, “I want to go into journalism and photography.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, I’ve always been interested in it.”

“Well, that sounds way cooler than being a doctor,” Ashley said, seriously. “You shouldn’t let your mom choose for you.”

“I don’t know, we’ll just see what happens. Whatever my future pans out to be, I just want to be happy.”

Ashley smiled, as she brought her hand up to caress the blonde’s cheek. Spencer covered the brunette’s hand with her own.

“I could get used to this,” Ashley stated, simply.
