Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 7: Dinner at Spencer’s)

The brunette let out a chuckle, "Well, that was pointless."

    "Mm?"

"I sat here, so we wouldn’t be in a close proximity," she whispered. "But now, you’re basically on top of me, so it was pretty pointless."

Spencer rolled her eyes and leaned in so that her mouth was right against Ashley’s ear as she whispered, "Ash, chill, we’re just sitting together. It’s not like we’re doing any type of PDA." she leaned back to her former sitting position and stared into Ashley’s eyes with raised brows.

"I really don’t think it matters," the brunette retorted. "If your mom sees us within 5 feet of each other, she’ll freak."

"She’s not even home, yet." the blonde said in a matter-of-fact tone. "Plus, even if she was, I wouldn’t care. So will you chill, or do I have to go sit on the couch all by myself?" she added the last part with a pout and puppy dog eyes.

"Fine, but if I get stoned to death, I am so haunting you, in your sleep."

Spencer laughed loudly, as she pointed the remote at the television, turning it on. She was flipping through the channels, occasionally groaning and/or turning her nose up at a few.

Ashley sighed dramatically, "Spence, can you just pick something, already?"

    "Nothing’s ooonnnn!" the blonde whined.

"That’s because you’re so damn picky." the brunette retorted as she snatched the remote from Spencer, taking control.

"Hey give that back!" Spencer yelled as she lunged for the remote.

Ashley quickly held it away from the blonde, "I don’t think so! Mine, now!"

The blonde pouted as she kept trying to snatch the remote back, but the brunette was too quick for her.

"Don’t even waste your time, you’re not getting it back," Ashley stuck out her tongue.

Spencer narrowed her eyes and also stuck out her tongue, in mock fashion.

The close proximity suddenly made itself known to the brunette. Their tongues were nearly touching, and Ashley felt her stomach jump. She retracted her tongue, and her eyes darted around the room making sure that there were no on-lookers.

Spencer sighed at Ashley’s nervousness, but understood it completely. Hell, she didn’t really want to get caught doing anything either.

"So, what are we gonna watch, Miss ‘I’m-in-Control-Because-Spencer-Couldn’t-Pick-Anything’?" Spencer asked as she leaned back into the side of the chair, with her legs still over Ashley’s.
