    Window of Opportunity ch. 18

“Not initially but either she asked or was sent here in case of a shut down. I haven’t seen her but she will be at the next meeting I go into.”

    “You ok?”

“Yes. I mean I don’t want to deal with her but if I have to I will. Look Bette, I have to run. I’ll call you or send you a text in a couple hours. May I ask a favor of you?”

    “Of course you can.”

“I called to hear your voice to help calm me down and I told you Shana’s here because I wanted you to know. Will you promise me not to let that ruin your day? I’m really ok and on my priority list right now, with a movie in production that I’ve shut down, she is really low on the list.”

I listened to her words and put my faith in Tina’s ability to handle things. “I can make that promise. Thanks for telling me.”

“No  secrets. I gotta go. You have a good day.”

    “You too T. Good luck.”

    “Thanks. Bye.”

Shana is in Santa Fe. Oh boy.

    Tina

I hate my life at this very moment. I knew coming here would be challenging but hell, is everyone smoking crack? Probably not a good analogy when the director just got out of rehab. I met with him as soon as I got here to try to show him the need to follow the budgetary constraints that have been put in place for this film. He looked at me like I have two heads. He went on this monologue about art and needing to fulfill some bullshit destiny. I have no fucking clue what he was talking about. I asked him simply, could he work with what he was given and he answered no. Right there…that moment…I shut it down and walked away. He was furious and trailed behind me yelling and screaming. I ignored him. He acts as if money is no object when hell, it’s all about money.

As I walked over to the production trailer I caught a glimpse of Shana and my bad mood got worse. I know when we last talked she was not slated to be here but may have been sent to help from her end in getting this production back on track. Whatever. Right now would not be a good time for her to approach me. I scheduled a meeting with every head person on site to begin in 15 minutes and walked out.

    1. Wow! I’m still catching my breath. Loved the update! Bette is being so tremendously supportive of Tina — sending pictures of Angelica to calm rattled and overworked nerves was such a thoughtful gesture. Bette appears to have really learned patience — I hope it lasts. Looking forward to your next post! Thanks for posting so quickly.

    2. So happy that you took the time to post this chapter. Love the story and they way you have them interacting. slosly rebuilding their passion and life together. Great. PPS

    3. This was extraordinarily beautiful. We were amazed with the interaction between B&T. It runs so deep. Kit’s scene was hilarious and B’s thoughtfulness to send the pictures for T, was so sweet. Your story has hooked us and it’s is enchanting. PPS – Lucero & Marsha – From Mexico City
