Window of Opportunity
Chapter 16
Previously:
“See…there is still so much we don’t know about one another. Bette, I hate to go but I just got jabbed in the ribs by this squirmy little girl and I am getting tired. How ‘bout if I call you to say hi when I get out of my morning meetings?”
“That would be wonderful. I love you T. Kiss Angie for me and you sleep well and have sweet dreams.”
“I will give her your kiss. You get some rest and we’ll talk tomorrow. Thanks for a fantastic weekend Bette. Goodnight.”
“Night T.”
Tina
I slept so well last night after having spent so much time with Bette over the weekend. This morning I got up ready to face the world and was ready in enough time to head over to The Planet. In all honesty, I was hoping to run into Bette. I can’t get her out of my head and have been jabbering to Angie about Momma to the point that even she has tuned me out. Nothing like being ignored by a 3 year old.
We got in the car to see if we could accidently on purpose run into Bette. As we drove, with Angie looking at her picture book, I called and made an appointment with Dan Foxworthy for the following week. If Bette were committed to working on her issues in therapy then I needed to also step up to the plate. We have so much that we still have to work on together since we are not telling our closest friends about us, I need someone to talk to. Bette has been great in her newly discovered ability to communicate but as much as I am appreciating her willingness to open up, I still need someone other than her to process with. I know that she didn’t ever find that connection with Dan, I still felt enough of a connection with him to give it a shot.
Arriving at The Planet, I didn’t see Bette which caused me momentarily to be disappointed. These new feelings that I was experiencing were so confusing to me. Just a week ago, I either would have avoided The Planet or at the very least, not looked for her upon arrival. Today though there was a pang of disappointment. I really need to get a grip. Angie saw Kit and made a beeline for her. The connection that they shared always makes me smile. Even when Bette and I were at our worst, Kit never allowed it to come in between her time with Angie. She was the only one at times who acted like an adult and the consistency that Angie received from her made me so appreciative of these strong women who are part of our family.

I love the slowness of this. I like to see them communicating and sharing their feelings. Please post again soon.
yeah it’s nice that they r working at it. PPS
I like the slow pace you are taking us. Its like bothe are doing the same thing,so they can get it right this time around. The love is there, but the trust is not so stead yet. thanks+++++++++++

This story is going Great!!!!! I so love that B&T are talking and taking the time to here what is being said. Thank you PPS
I am also enjoying the slow pace. For once we get a chance to savor the re-developing connection between these two characters. So often it progresses too quickly and results in more unnecessary drama. I wonder if Yoda(Shane) was noting all the communication despite her quietness at breakfast. I thought it was hysterical that Jenny left shortly after Bette’s arrival. I wish I could have heard the conversation between Bette and Jenny above “Bev”. Please post soon!
Great story, please keep it coming!!!
Ya know just yoda doesn’t talk in the morning doesn’t mean she ain’t paying attention. she out of the whole group has the best intuition! excellent update… keep the conversation going… :)PPS
