What Happens in Vegas (3)
"How do we know for sure these two women are really married?" John said suspiciously.
"Bette doesn’t stand up for people like that, John," Natalie said in defeat her lip quivering.
"Don’t despair Nat, I still got a good case," John said.
"Not better than mine," Joyce boosted leaning back in her chair and interlocking her fingers behind her head.
"Well see about that Joyce," Paul challenged standing up, "come on John, we have some discussing to do."
Eric followed his attorney out in silence but everyone could feel the deep anger seeping out of him like a bolt of lightening.
Natalie stood up to leave as well turning to Bette and Tina and saying, "I will destroy you. The both of you!"
Joyce waited until the hall was completely silent before whispering, "you two have to keep guard up one hundred percent ya hear?"
"Why are you whispering?" Tina whispered.
"Because they’ve probably already hired private eyes," Bette whispered.
"I don’t care if you’re out of the house or in the house, you are a happy married couple at all times, got it?" Joyce whispered firmly pointing her finger at them.
Bette and Tina looked at each other nervously and said, "got it."
In the car ride home the were immersed in a comfortable silence that Tina broke by saying, "thank you."
Bette took her eyes off the road for a second to give her a confused look, "why?"
"For standing up for me with Eric," Tina said.
"Oh, there is no need to thank me for that, I hate people who do that kind of damage to other people," Bette said, "he’s a fucking douche."
"Did someone ever do that to you?" Tina asked.
"Yes, my ex girlfriend Jodi," Bette said, "she was horrible and the only reason I broke up with her is because she cheated on me. I went back to my player ways after that and I vowed to never let anyone hurt me or anyone I cared about like that ever again."
Tina only heard one part of the sentence and beamed at her, "you care about me?"
Bette gave a shocked look and said, "of course I care about you! We’ve been married for almost a month now!"
Tina smiled shyly and said, " I care about you too. Thanks again for the Eric thing."
"You know I can’t be there to defend you all the time T," Bette said as she pulled up to the garage of her house, "I have to teach you how to be more strong willed, more fierce, more…dominant."
"Dominant?" Tina repeated cocking an eyebrow, "what is called alpha?"
"Well I could teach you how to be dominant in the alpha sense too," Bette said with a smirk, "but we should focus on your self confidence and determination first. Besides those are the main ingredients of being an alpha."
"Are you an alpha woman?"
"What do you think?"
Tina regarded Bette for a moment, her memories of their night in the alleyway, then the public bathrooms at another club, then the honeymoon suite at the chapel, and then in Tina’s hotel room filled her mind.
"I would say you were alpha, most definitely," Tina laughed.
"If you can top me, then I know I’ve succeeded," Bette said smirking at the challenge she had given herself.
She searched Tina’s eyes for an answer, for an approval.
When Tina’s eyes sparkled and smirk graced her features, Bette’s grin widened. What happens in Vegas never stays in Vegas…

Amazing.Well done Bette.PPS
I’m in love with this story!!!!! PPS
bette’s views are the ones of “second wave feminism”. although feministic theory building, science and research are long past by that, most of the people associate feminism with the theories of second wave f. Sadly. Because feminism is so much more than that (see: gender studies, black feminism, third wave f., theories by Simone de Beauvoir or Judith Butler). Anyway i have a feeling, that in this story Tina’s character could be very one sided -as a vulnerable woman who struggles with this. i suppose you don’t want to make things too complicated in this story, but i really would love to read about a more colourful Tina. i think your idea is interesting, but please don’t slip in the area of too superficial characters. on the side there are already 98725394165234912492164192643972416398532 storries of that kind… :P Hope I didn’t upset you! Looking forward to “Crossing boundries” as always!^^
LoL… Precaution is good prevention!! :-D thanks for great update! :-)I love the story flow! And I do looking forward on Tina’s development on the challenge and how Bette is coaching her ;-)
