    What Happens in Vegas (3)

Bette looked at Tina nervously then to Joyce who looked calm and confident as always.

"Remember ladies, you are newlyweds, you’re supposed to be all lovie dovie and all over each other. And sorry it took almost a month to set this damn meeting up, working with two busy lawyers around my own busy schedule is a bitch. I guess this case is gonna take longer than we thought, so lovie dovie!" Joyce said.

"Our friends bought it, I’m sure Eric and Natalie will too," Tina said hopefully.

"No, Natalie is way too scrutinizing, she won’t be easy to fool, I’m sure Eric will be convinced right away," Bette said.

"How are you so sure about that?" Tina laughed.

    "He’s a man," Bette said.

Joyce let out a laugh and added, "and a straight man at that!"

"It’s not even about that, my assistant James is straight, but he has two fathers," Bette said, "it’s just a matter of being close-minded stereotypical sexist man."

"Amen sista," Joyce said with a corny fist pump.

Tina let out a breath of laughter saying, "feminists."

"What you’re not one?" Bette said.

"I was emotionally abused by some prick for a very long time, trust me feminism was not an option for me but I’m learning," Tina said with a sad smile.

"I helped with that," Joyce said.

"I can help too," Bette offered with a warm smile.

"Hey! That’s great!" Joyce said, "Bette, you’re the strength Tina needs! It’s perfect for both of your cases! Trust me the jury will gain sympathy for the hero-like Bette Porter."

"My hero!" Tina teased with a grin.

Bette laughed and said, "oh shut up."

Joyce noticed the interaction and smiled to herself, maybe there didn’t have to be that much acting involved after all.

Voices were heard down the hall and Bette and Tina immediately gripped hands.

Natalie barged in first. Her light brown hair was a mess and her bright green eyes were burning with rage, "you gotta be fucking kidding me right?"

Tina was shocked, this woman was like a model. She was drop dead gorgeous. Bette must have dumped her because of that terrible attitude she has on her.

"Natalie, sit down," her attorney said firmly.

"Hello John," Joyce greeted with a smile.

    1. Yes!! u updated!!… ..Wow..What a Prick your Eric.. tsk tsk tsk..And that Natalie girl?.. ..She’s more Bitch Than Kelly in “The L Word”.. ..Loved Your Joyce.. heheh!…CUZ, I CAN SEE THESE SCENE CLEARLY IN MY HEAD..Joyce waited until the hall was completely silent before whispering, “you two have to keep guard up one hundred percent ya hear?””Why are you whispering?” Tina whispered.”Because they’ve probably already hired private eyes,” Bette whispered.”I don’t care if you’re out of the house or in the house, you are a happy married couple at all times, got it?” Joyce whispered firmly pointing her finger at them.Bette and Tina looked at each other nervously and said, “got it.”

    2. bette’s views are the ones of “second wave feminism”. although feministic theory building, science and research are long past by that, most of the people associate feminism with the theories of second wave f. Sadly. Because feminism is so much more than that (see: gender studies, black feminism, third wave f., theories by Simone de Beauvoir or Judith Butler). Anyway i have a feeling, that in this story Tina’s character could be very one sided -as a vulnerable woman who struggles with this. i suppose you don’t want to make things too complicated in this story, but i really would love to read about a more colourful Tina. i think your idea is interesting, but please don’t slip in the area of too superficial characters. on the side there are already 98725394165234912492164192643972416398532 storries of that kind… :P Hope I didn’t upset you! Looking forward to “Crossing boundries” as always!^^
