"Where do we go now?" Bette said waving to the villagers as she followed Tina towards the forest.

"We have to go to D’Hara and stop Buckley," Tina said.

"But how?" Bette asked, "we don’t even know what she’s planning."

"The plan is to figure that out before we get there," Tina said, "it’s a long way to D’Hara."

"It’s like jumping into the unknown," Bette said.

"And there’s so many things to watch out for," Tina said.

A loud screech filled the airs and everyone froze in their spots. "That sounds like…" Bette started.

"Gars!!!" Marcus cried pointing up into the air.

Screams broke out as the women and children ran to their huts and the men pulled out their weapons.

Bette and Tina immediately pulled out their weapons as five gars landed on the ground and a quad jumped off and their leader, a young raven-haired woman, stayed on her gar and watched.

"Kill the seeker and mother confessor!" The woman said coldly.

The quad immediately jumped into action but they couldn’t reach Bette and Tina because the village men had attacked. The gars joined the fight and arrows started flying into the air.

Bette saw Tina’s panicked expression as the people she cared about were being slaughtered. A deep anger filled Bette’s body and she felt the magic of the sword surge through her body.

With a cry Bette lunged forward and slashed one of the gars heads off, then turned around and killed one of the quad members.

She ducked under Marcus’ sword as it slashed another quad member. Another screech rung out as another gar fell to the floor with arrows protruding from its chest.

Bette saw Tina deep in battle with another quad member while two men fought the other. Bette focused her attention to the two gars who were being attacked by spears, arrows, and swords. She jumped into the fight stabbing one gar in the chest then with an impressive front flip that was a new found ability provided by the sword, Bette slashed her sword down on the last gar.

"Ahh!" Bette heard one of the quad members yell as he fell, then she saw Tina plunge her knife into the other quad member then look towards the leader.
