Trouble in Designer Suits Ch.34
I took in my wife as she laughed with her younger siblings and revelled in the
fact that I knew I was not even remotely on my own in these feelings. I did
however crave a chance to just have her to myself for five minutes. Just to
hold her and be with her on this day on our own to tell her how I felt
unencumbered by the audience of earlier.
After dessert I rose to use the bathroom before the toasting began and felt without
seeing that she had followed me into the house.
“Hey there Darlin, You spare a few minutes for your wife, she’s missed you since the
I do’s”
I grinned as I turned and opened my arms for her to walk in to. Just holding her
swaying in the hallway, away from all our guests I allowed the emotion of the
day to flow out of me dampening her shoulder.
She understood that there was no worry needed these were tears of happiness and
love and relief, I just needed some time and privacy to let them out. She
understood so perfectly the strange and different facets of my personality and
allowed me my time.
Once I was done she put her hand under my chin forcing eye contact as she rubbed any
evidence from my cheeks. Before pushing me towards the bathroom I had been
heading to and with a chuckle shouting over her shoulder as she headed back to
our guests.
“Your secrets safe with me you big softy just sort your makeup or people might
realize that you do actually cry.”
I couldn’t have been happier to be mocked.

I watched as they returned to their table on shortly after the other, though I
knew for once that they had not been up to no good, and if I wasn’t mistaken
the absence had given my beautiful English friend just a little time with her
wife to let some of the emotion of the day out from inside. I didn’t think that the private
nature that she held would ever changed but as time passed we had all come to
know and understand a little and know that she would never really embrace the
American ability to express all she felt all the time.
Sat as I was at a table with Peggy and Clara I don’t think more motherly pride
could have been found anywhere in the world at that time. Aside from the brides
they were without doubt the two happiest women here.
