Trouble in Designer Suits Ch.34
I saw Andy mull over a response as I to struggled, we really were the worst to
people to get into conversations like this unsupervised. Thankfully I was saved
as Andy seemed to find some words.
“Okay Peggy, here is the deal I will give you and I think Bette will agree. Helena
has said and done some stuff that we need to fix, however you do not need to
hear all of that and further impact the relationship you are now rebuilding. So
my proposal is this. You let us talk to Helena when Rachel and I return and she
has healed some more, we will get the lie of the land and know what we need to
do to right any wrongs so to speak. Then once we know and we outline our plans
we will let you help in every way you can.”
Peggy looked like she might argue but then merely placed a hand on Andy’s cheek and
one on mine before nodding her head. With that with that we all tuned to survey
the newly tabled and ready to cater garden at peace that the future though
maybe not perfect was ours and would be fine. With that a mass of people
emerged from the house to find their seats for dinner

I sat at the “head table” in so much as it could be described with my stunning
bride and our daughter, the clan Porter-Kennard and the Dupree’s. Peggy and
Ruby although the matriarchs of the bunch had gracefully accepted the
limitations in seating and were at a table with Libby, Karen, Connor, Kit and
her lovely date, whom I had learnt was an ER Doc at Cedar’s. Though I was yet
to learn how their paths had crossed and made a note to find out before the day
was done. Families Fairbanks and McCutcheon resided on a third table. I revelled
in just sitting back and watching, admittedly a little overwhelmed at the love
I held in my heart for the people sat with me at these three tables, taking the
time to eat and drink with me on the best day of my life.
I could not imagine a day when I would not know and love them all and though a
small part of me would forever reside in that past life in new York I was here
I had made it and I felt home.
