    Bette and Tina talk

     

    “You look great ” Bette said after another long pause ” Have you lost weight ? “

    “I have been getting into swimming about five times a week – there is a pool at the studio. I hurt my knee in a fall about a year ago and it stopped me running “

     

    Bette fought tears – just this tiny piece of information that she DIDN’T know about Tina had for some reason hurt her more than finding out about Henry.

     

    She had found that she missed the little things the most about having Tina as her wife. She found that she would get lost in day dreams about what necklace Tina was wearing. Bette had never know anyone who collected and loved necklaces like Tina. She often went wandering around the shops in London looking for necklaces that Tina would like — she had even bought three before coming to her senses.

    She glanced at Tina – she was wearing a Celtic cross – a gift that Bette had bought her on their six month wedding anniversary. She doubted if Tina remembered that — unaware that Tina was recalling a very similar memory.

     

    Tina had so many questions – when is the baby due ? What sex is it ? Do you have a partner – a woman who is decorating the nursery for you while you are here ? Is your heart aching for me like mine is for you ?

    “It was a beautiful speech that you gave today – you always had a way with words – and that was a marvellous poem – I am sure I have heard that last line before “

    “Its pretty well known – it just echoed something that Dana said me when she asked me to deliver the eulogy – make sure they remember my life and talk about that and not my death. She wanted Monty Python’s ” Always look on the bright side of life ” but she knew her father wouldn’t like the line ” life’s a piece of shit when you look at it ” – I sent her some Python DVD’s and she loved them “

    “You talked to her a lot ? “


    “I was one of the few people awake when she needed to talk – we had some good conversations “

    20. I am with AmandaMG, Tina needs to lean in a gently kiss Bette. With that kiss becoming longer and deeper showing not only all around them that they are in love, but to let Henry know that it is over between him and Tina. No words need to be spoken just actions. Yippee, this is getting good.

    37. Ally, AGain thank you for reposting chapter 4. To have it and the following one was a joy to behold and indugle in. I love the gentleness of this story. The path back to where you belong is often fraught with danger and the inteferences of others even if they are often well-intentioned. It looks like Bette and Tina are ready to reaquaint themselves with each other but Henry may have a thing to say ans do about it but I know that Alice, Kit and Shane will be there to nourish and nuture the budding romance and reunion of two lost souls. Wonderful, wonderful writing. Thank you for all of your marvelous melodrama. Your Loyal Fan.

    39. EXCELLENT and so beautifully done. Now it is time for Alice and her compadraes to spring into action–Mission (and you WILL accept it) to get B&T together in a weeks time by having them spend the maxium amount of time together. I am soooo glad that they both risked it all and really opened up to each other. Alice talk to Tina was PRICELESS. Henry it is all over with the exception of doing the dirty dishes, have some pride about yourself and accept it. Look for someone else to be your “Baby’s mama” LOL.
