How she stayed with her.
Gabby knew she as an *****, she knew she was a *****, she knew she
was a selfish prick, and she knew that she was twisted as well. That
she probably didn’t have any concept of what the touted ‘real love’
actually was in this world but at the same time she didn’t *****
care. If you asked her, the ***** bitchy selfish prick twisted
version of love she felt for Alice was just as valid as the Harlequin
romance ***** that tennis player probably felt for her.
There wasn’t anything in her mind that made her unworthy of Alice or
having her love and that’s why Gabby finally stopped staring at the
***** shoes, picked them up, and left her apartment with them firmly
in hand. She was sick and tired of the brooding and the remembering and
the doing nothing but breathing.
She wanted to live her life again and she wanted to live it with Alice.
And ***** and goddamn anyone who tried to get in her way. Including Dana
Fairbanks.

They weren’t talking like they used to. The conversations she had with
Dana had become empty and they were now the polite ones you tended to
have with people who were strangers but not really. You know, the ones
you saw every Sunday in the supermarket or when you went to get your
mail. The ones where you sort of knew what their names were but you
weren’t sure so you never said the name out loud just in case you
happened to call them the wrong thing.
How she spoke with Dana felt like that. It felt like she didn’t know
Dana’s name was Dana Fairbanks and instead she might be actually called
something like Bailey McGullis. And Alice knew why they weren’t
talking. Because of her breakdown about Gabby.
She hated herself for that. For falling apart like she did and making
Dana feel that doubt again. That ***** doubt and insecurity that made
her afraid to talk to Alice because she was afraid if they talked then
the blonde would tell her she was leaving her.
The worst part was every time Alice tried to talk to Dana about that
night, about Gabby, and about how she really felt, the athlete wouldn’t
let her. She would speak those damning words from so long ago, when
this same terrible distance was between them, that it didn’t matter.
That she didn’t need to hear such things, that she knew Alice loved her.

Sh!t… I wish IC would let you write for the show. I’m so sad, but you do write true too life. I can see two women loving Alice, fight Dana fight. Great as always, wish I could come up with something witty to type to let you know how much I enjoy your stories. Looking foward to next week and the week after, because you have me totally hooked on both stories. Deb
I hope that dana will fight for alice but I don’t know if she is that stong to fight when she thinks that she will lose alice I just hope that someone will get thought to the both of them and that they find find each other in the end I love this story please post soon
This is an outstanding story. I can understand where both Alice and Dana are coming from, though I identify with Dana more. Gabby was always the real threat to a relationship between Dana and Alice – though so many other fanfic writers seem to think it is Lara.

my god. this reminds me of some of the shit i’ve been through with relationships. except i don’t srink my sorrows away so much as lash out with apathy.
i love the way this is written. i always want more, and that doesn’t often happen with stories. especially stories with drama and tension so thick it’s like a london fog. they usually just lose their edge after a while. but this…well. you’re taking your time with the storyline, and that’s a sign of a good writer. a great writer, actually. i hate when people just throw down their ideas and expect people to understand what they’re trying to get across. it’s ridiculous and obnoxious and just bad form.
and why the hell do these kinds of situations always end up happening the same way? girl meets girl, girl falls in love with girl, there’s another girl, and then the scorned departs.
in both reality and fiction, this scenario sucks ass. why must humans be human?
come on alice, what was dana suppose to do slap gabby right then and there…nah shes too classy….let her heal and she will fight for you probably after she talks to shane, she has to get the strength from somewhere….good story im already counting down the days until the next one
angst angst angst – I must say though – as I read this I couldn’t help but think of Friedrich Nietzsche and of poor dana.
“I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you” – how true for her – no matter what you do to make this better between, won’t this always hang over Dana’s head? Can you ever truly recover from a betrayal like this? Won’t you always have the seed of doubt planted?

Again – Nietzsche – cause you were so right with Dana’s reaction and need to shut down. If Alice could hurt her, she would forever doubt anyone else in her life and then the hope would only bring her sadness.
But I am a hopeless romantic and need to believe that you work your magic and make this better – so on that note – Publilius Syrus – an ancient roman author
“The wounds of love can only be healed by the one who made them.” So please – post soon and get alice there to talk to dana!!!! They need to make this better. She can’t go with Gabby! And dreiser – stop writing so well that you evoke such a strong response.
