Gabby did what she wanted to who she wanted and when she wanted and as
a result she lived a very happy existence. For herself, at least. Those
who dealt with the aftermath of her actions usually weren’t quite so
pleased with her but what did they matter? It was her life and she
could do what she damn well pleased with it.
But this time she felt guilty for what she wanted.
Maybe it was because this time she knew she was hurting the very thing
she wanted. That she was hurting Alice with her actions, she could see
that in the blonde’s eyes when she looked at her before running away
like a modern day bisexual Cinderella, leaving her expensive heels
behind. Staring at the shoes again, Gabby wondered if perhaps this was
part of Alice’s evil plan to make her have a foot fetish as well as a
penchant for S&M. Then she realized the writer would never try such
a thing as she knew how very gross Gabby found feet to be.
Only Alice knew things like that. None of the other women she dated
over the years knew she hated feet. They didn’t know she listened to
Tori Amos when she was depressed, they didn’t know her favorite candy
was black licorice, they didn’t know she hated how most dykes loved to
smell like vanilla. In fact, if they knew that last one, most of them
wouldn’t make themselves smell like ***** vanilla then, would they?
It was just Alice who knew that and made sure she never smelled like
vanilla. Even when Gabby would decide to make a random reappearance.
When she would see Alice in Trader Joe’s or Sephora or Girl Bar or any
other number of places she felt struck by the sudden need to be with
the blonde again upon seeing her. Alice never smelled like vanilla.
And Gabby knew it was because of her. Because of the first time they
were together and curled up in an embrace when Alice asked her how it
was causing Gabby to reply with a droll, “Good but I hate the smell of
vanilla and you smell like vanilla.”
The next day Alice didn’t smell like vanilla anymore and she never did
since. Some perverse part of Gabby celebrated in that because it showed
day by day how much she affected Alice, how she made her change and
shift because of what she thought and how she felt about things. It
made her feel powerful in a strange way and Gabby loved feeling that
way. She loved that she could ***** tell how much she counted when it
came to Alice, how what she said was taken to heart and how it stayed
with the blonde.

Sh!t… I wish IC would let you write for the show. I’m so sad, but you do write true too life. I can see two women loving Alice, fight Dana fight. Great as always, wish I could come up with something witty to type to let you know how much I enjoy your stories. Looking foward to next week and the week after, because you have me totally hooked on both stories. Deb
I hope that dana will fight for alice but I don’t know if she is that stong to fight when she thinks that she will lose alice I just hope that someone will get thought to the both of them and that they find find each other in the end I love this story please post soon
This is an outstanding story. I can understand where both Alice and Dana are coming from, though I identify with Dana more. Gabby was always the real threat to a relationship between Dana and Alice – though so many other fanfic writers seem to think it is Lara.

my god. this reminds me of some of the shit i’ve been through with relationships. except i don’t srink my sorrows away so much as lash out with apathy.
i love the way this is written. i always want more, and that doesn’t often happen with stories. especially stories with drama and tension so thick it’s like a london fog. they usually just lose their edge after a while. but this…well. you’re taking your time with the storyline, and that’s a sign of a good writer. a great writer, actually. i hate when people just throw down their ideas and expect people to understand what they’re trying to get across. it’s ridiculous and obnoxious and just bad form.
and why the hell do these kinds of situations always end up happening the same way? girl meets girl, girl falls in love with girl, there’s another girl, and then the scorned departs.
in both reality and fiction, this scenario sucks ass. why must humans be human?
come on alice, what was dana suppose to do slap gabby right then and there…nah shes too classy….let her heal and she will fight for you probably after she talks to shane, she has to get the strength from somewhere….good story im already counting down the days until the next one
angst angst angst – I must say though – as I read this I couldn’t help but think of Friedrich Nietzsche and of poor dana.
“I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you” – how true for her – no matter what you do to make this better between, won’t this always hang over Dana’s head? Can you ever truly recover from a betrayal like this? Won’t you always have the seed of doubt planted?
“Hope in reality is the worst of all evils, because it prolongs the torments of man”
Again – Nietzsche – cause you were so right with Dana’s reaction and need to shut down. If Alice could hurt her, she would forever doubt anyone else in her life and then the hope would only bring her sadness.
But I am a hopeless romantic and need to believe that you work your magic and make this better – so on that note – Publilius Syrus – an ancient roman author
“The wounds of love can only be healed by the one who made them.” So please – post soon and get alice there to talk to dana!!!! They need to make this better. She can’t go with Gabby! And dreiser – stop writing so well that you evoke such a strong response.
