    Tina: Well I was just
    returning your call.

     

    Bette: You were?

     

    Tina: Yeahyou just
    called me. We must have gotten disconnected. I *69d it and it came through as
    your personal office line. You did call me, right?

     

    Bette: I did?…I mean, yes I did. Iah

     

    Tina:  (interrupts) Bette, is there something wrong?

     

    Bette: Wrong? No…nothings wrong.

     

    Tina: Were you calling
    for a reason?

     

    Yeah, to ask for
    forgiveness and profess my undying love    , Bette thought.

     

    Bette: A reason?oh umthe…the gardenia bush is wilting.

     

    Tina: Wilting?

     

    Bette: Yeahitsuh turning brown and falling over.

     

    Tina: You might want
    to try watering it.

     

    Bette: Yeah,um of course. Ill do that.

     

    Tina: Is thatis that
    the reason you called?

     

    Bette frowned. Did Tina sound disappointed?  They both knew damn well that a dying plant
    wasnt the reason for the call.  She
    realized that Tina was giving her an escape route to end the exchange. Obviously
    the phone angle wasnt the best way to communicate. They were both struggling
    to get through a simple conversation.

     

    Bette: Well I know how you love that plantI.
    (pauses) No, thats not the reason why I called.

     

    Tina: Its not?

     

    Bette: NoII wanted to see how you were doing?

     

    Tina: Oh. Im doing
    okay. (pauses) How about you?

     

    Bette: Fine, I guess. Getting ready for the Spring Show.

     

    Tina: I know.

     

    Bette winced. From Helena I bet.

     

    Bette: Of course.

     

    Tina: (suddenly) Are
    you taking care of yourself?

     

    Bette: Why would you ask that?

     

    Tina: Well I know how
    you get.

     

    Bette: (confused) How I get?

     

    Tina: Before a
    showyou tend to become really focused on your work.

     

    Bette: Im always focused on my work.

     

    Tina: Well yeahbut
    welleven more so right before a show. 
    You work laterforget to eatthat sort of thing.

     

    Bette: (quietly) Areare you saying that youre worried
    about me?

     

    Tina (stammers) Worried?
    NoI ahI just wanted to make sure that everything was going good. You knowfor
    the show.

     

    Bette: Oh, right. The showof course. (pauses) Will you be
    coming opening night?

     

    Tina: Yes, Ill be
    there.

     

    With Helena you idiot. Bette silently berated
    herself. What a ***** stupid question
    to ask.  

     

    Tina: So

    1. Nice chapter. I guess we’ll just wait and see where you take us. I guess there could have been a mixup at the lab, right? It really does happen. Although, it is usually the NURSES who mix up the samples. I will run from the tomatoes now…..

    2. Ok with the way Bette and Tina’s conversation was going in the beginning I think I would drink too….LOL….Now Bette can go to this doctor and get more tests that will clear up this mistake….Post soon!

      Man, do I ever resent that statement! Nurses do not mix up samples….it is usually a lab screw up. Now that is out of the way…I am hoping that the doctor switched the sample with another patient. (Christy, now we are both off the hook.) Great chapter…Tina is pregnant and Bette might have cancer…great drama going on here.

    4. Cliff hangers I hate them post soon Tina is hurting bette to by not taking some of the responsiblity for some of the problems in their relationship. Tina needs to examine herself a little and not just place the blame on bette

    6. OK first off if you kill anyone off I will be ok with it!!! Yeah it really shocking and upseting but this is fan fic, so do what you want with YOUR story. The begining of B/T phone convo had me lmao, it was great. So cancer?? what type??
      OH and I love drama so bring it on!!!

    7. Good chapter Tibette, and it was 5 pages long. Bette said that she “SHE MIGHT HAVE CANCER” I hope everything turn out fine for her. I hope Bette let Kit be there for her. And I hope Tina tell Bette she love her before she find out about the cancer.

    10. I’m glad they talked. All of them.
      Bette needs to come out of her haze and address her health. Perhaps the baby will motivate her. Is yours a story where she knows about the baby already and is just waiting for Tina to reveal it to her?
